Twitter + NFL + Lockout in the midst of a recession = Gems like this:

Reggie Bush tweets from yesterday :

reggie_bush Reggie Bush
Everybody complaining about the lockout! Shoot I'm making the most of it! Vacation, rest, relaxing, appearances here and there! I'm good!

Right about now we would be slaving in 100 degree heat, practicing twice a day, while putting our bodies at risk for nothing.

@reggie_bush And maybe that's why they drafted Ingram?

Yet further proof that social media is simply another mechanism through which pro athletes may demonstrate their stupidity.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

I hate twitter, people just need to STFU and keep their inane bullshit to themselves....... just like the good old days.

What kind of backwards rube would give a shit what Reggie fucking Bush does on a day to say basis?

I can write that story without even knowing the dude.

He's an asshole. The end.

I dont know who would follow what he has to say, but I find it hilarious that fans now have a direct link to Athletes in their bubble worlds to check him on a statement like that within minutes.

Can't say that I dont enjoy the additional entertainment....before all they had were postgame mics in their faces and police blotters, right?

Twitter has to have exponentially increased their opportunities to look like idiots.

Poor PR departments finally trained these seals not to bark at a microphone and now they get this shit.

Excellent.

<sigh> I miss the good old days when our heroes were too drunk or too busy slamming hookers in their hotel rooms and didn’t have time to tweet.

I'd like to think that an athlete would read the responses and maybe gain a little bit of perspective about the unicorn-and-leprechaun fantasy worlds they live in.

But more likely they just figure everyone is jealous playuh hatuhs, and go back to feeding their winged horses.

More ammo for the owners in their lock out. Players keep saying the lock out is not doing them any harm. Not too smart, Reggie.

I'm with ya.

One of the greatest things I've ever heard was during the memorable Lawrence Taylor 60 Minutes interview from 4-5 years ago .... where he talked about how he would send a couple hookers with a huge bag of coke to the opposing running backs hotel room every Saturday night.

It doesn't get any better than that. Pure behind the scenes genius.

Now, the athletes are even stupider. Most of them stupider than LT, which is saying a lot. And they have all these new mediums to remind us every day.

SD:

Unfortunately they mirror a society where we are graduating kids too stoopid to understand how to properly sweep a floor.

Tweeting for them is tantamount to carrying a gun the wrong way like Plex and end up in more danger of blowing their own toes off rather than protecting themselves.

It won't be long before teams will first ban twitter then fine any twits they catch tweetin.

I don't get all the Twitter hatred. It's like a group of people do something that doesn't affect Person X, but X doesn't want to actually join in himself/herself so he/she tries to tear it down.

And he's probably ticked about the workouts because he still receives bi-monthly checks from Pete.
mmm, this is, a tasty burger!
