Madden12 Cover NCAA style

Unread postby Rat_Tail » Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:41 pm

Guess they're having a 32 player bracket (each team is represented) for the next Madden cover.

If you ever want to see a Brown on the cover vote here:

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/madden2012cover

Or if you're superstitious and don't want Hillis to get the Madden curse go vote for Ray Rice.

I'm starting a campaign to conjure up as many votes for Matt Ryan as possible. Vote for Ryan, get your friends to do the same, tell them to tell their friends, and so forth.

Hillis on to the Semi's. I am sure he can beat Rodgers in this matchup, but up against Vick in the next round is probably impossible.

One would think EA might be a bit nervous of the backlash of Vick being on the cover, but they were the one that put him up for voting.

Talk about some short term memory to even suggest that Vick be on the cover. When he got arrested, I named that year's fantasy team of mine Bad Newz after his kennel.

Vick winning is way funnier than if Rodgers had won.

The real question is how some half-assed Arkansas fullback who was kicked out of Denver made it to the finals.

I hope somewhere that when this is over someobody delivers about 600 Madden boxes with Hillis on the cover to Josh McDaniel's mom's house so she can call Josh up from the basement/bedroom and tell him to get rid of that crap.

screw it

lets put the guy on the cover. at the very least, it shows browns fans in a very positive light, voting for a non-pro bowl player to make the cover for the first time that an open-voting method has been used.

Stuffed the ballots folks, lets go do what people used to do for WMMS back in the day (allegedly)

Hillis getting on the cover of Madden over Rogers or Vick is a travesty and just shows that Cleveland has more people willing to sit in front of their computers, vote, clear their cookies and vote again than anywhere else.

Feh.

It's not like it's some great honor being perfectly honest. I mean, it's a nice little footnote in your career, but it's not like it's going up near your bust in canton.

I could understand if this was say, the NFL mvp award, where the point would be valid. But it's a video game.

btw, opinions on 2K and how badly EA messed up elite?

Lotsa people have 'cleared their cookies' watching the Browns. Like for the most part of 11 of the last 12 seasons

I think this is what tool boxes that leave it to fans to vote reap.

It's funny.

I'm pretty sure a lot of Packer fans voted for Hillis too.

No way dog killa Vick gets on the cover twice. That would be a mess.

I'm 49. The only Madden season I have is the Atlanta Falcon Vick version. It was a gift.
I am terrible at that game. Trying to get good at it was like 'work'.
It still is kinda surprising to me that games like that are so mainstream.
I mean, how can so many people possibly be better at something than I am? ha

Re: Hillis, 2 thoughts: He should make any all-Madden team.

And don't know if any of you caught the Gruden segment on ESPN the other day. He was talking to Jake Locker (I think). Was running footage of him looking for contact in the secondary and was deriding him for putting his arm and shoulder at risk. Said, "Who do you think you are, Peyton Hillis?" hahaa

Great for Peyton! Hope he earns a few extra bucks from the pub!

And I hope it may lead to a few young fans becoming Brown fans!

As far as a curse, shoot, maybe it will "do the opposite" since we have already been cursed.

And blow me. It's great that the majority of kids who play Madden have a role model they can relate to on the cover. Ur just bent it's not Welker.

Anyway, that's what they said when Jackie and Roberto did their thing. Not hatin' but relatin'. See no reason why millions of 15 year old caucasian suburban kids and soon-to-be-college-drop-outs ( the core clientelle, you know, like Chineese NBA fans? ) can't get a non-pussy position white cat on their favorite game.

Then again, I suppose more people DO know Jay Cutler. So your take has that going for it. Which is nice.
