Jordon Cameron, TE USC

Interesting TE prospect out of USC. He was impressive at the combine and Holmgren and Heckert are guys that value the TE position.

Cameron is much more athletic. Youtube him and Blake Griffin and see the athleticism.

Still he's a real project. Doesn't block too well and actual production was anemic.

Personally, I'd have preferred a lineman on either side but he was obviously high on the FO's board. (Ahead of Williams and Gantt)

Was caught in a logjam of TEs at USC so don't worry about the catches there. But like noles said, a real project and I would've preferred CB or OT. In Heckgren we trust.

I see him working well as a goal-line situation guy..

At this point in the draft, if you can get a guy who can contribute at the very least in that sort of form. You'd be doing alright.

How? He's more physical as a receiver than blocker and he ain't seeing the goal line with Watson and Moore being flat-out better.

First pick of the fourth round better spent on OL prospect or CB/DB than that guy. Seems like a real big reach to me unless they think Watson is done and Moore gets more medical attention than LB/DB attention.

probably that. The goal is to try to nail 2 out of the 3 picks in the first two days, and then from there, maybe see if you can get at least one guy from day one who can contribute.

Again, at this point to me, its kind of hard to get to bent out of shape over it. If Heckert and Co. see something, then..they see something. IHIT.

I mean, he has upside and may develop into a nice WCO TE. With Watson and Moore, tho, we are pretty set for next year and I would have loooked to address RT, LB, CB, or another DE.

Jordan Cameron is another basketballer turned to the gridiron that will try to transition his phenomenal ball skills and tremendous explosion to the football field.

He has great prototype size and big hands that give him an uncanny ability to make plays on even the most poorly thrown passes. His physicality and straight line speed will be difficult to matchup with for NFL defenses and while he isn’t going to string moves together, he does show great power after the catch.

He’s a very raw prospect that originally signed on at BYU to play basketball but later transferred to Ventura Junior College and then to USC, where he flourished. He has a ways to go as far as route running is concerned and he’ll need a crash course in run blocking, as he needs a lot of improvement in the aspect.

Cameron is picking up a lot of steam as the draft process unfolds and should be the next type of “Jimmy Graham/Jermichael Finley” player who has the chacne to make a big impact if he can continue his rapid rate of progression.

He has a mountain of untapped potential that could give him the chance to be a long time starter in the league and a potential pro bowl caliber end that can alter games because of his reliable hands and natural size.

Started at BYU. May e morman. Maybe he played some touch football with Mit and Phist?
