Quick google search says he's also been arrested for assault charges. Looks like SD is getting his way with the whole "mean" thing

Since I don't know a single thing about Reed of Sheard other than they both play DE and are about the same size, I'm happy as a pig in shit. Love going DL, DL.

Now go out and get either DL/OT with the next pick.

Jason's DL article touched on Sheard in his 2nd/3rd round prospects:

Jabaal Sheard (6-2 7/8 264lbs) DE Pitt Sheard is a DE who can fit the mold of a RDE in the 4-3. He is a player who will be a solid DE and who will bring a nice variety of moves in the pass rush game and really understands leverage in the run game. He has good speed (4.69) but needs to work on his burst and getting off the line.

Was kinda hoping AZ would take Mallet so he'd learn from DA and the universe would be sucked into itself.

Corner will be nice, but if Little is there, I'll be in SDs corner and say we get that guy!

Also we need another DE so maybe Reed will still be inplay, stranger things have happened/ And Drake Nevis wouldnt upset me either!

You know what? If you end up in a fight with a guy that looks like Jabaal Sheard, you deserve to get thrown through a glass door.

I don't know if they're content with Benard. Lotta holes so they may be, but if they get value for another bookend for Sheard I think they'll get him.

Agree with JB though: I think it comes down to CB or WR depending on whether there's a big gap in their rankings. If it's close it's DB and fill the WR needs thru FA.

Welcome back.

Combo of new job plus no interest in Cleveland sports until this week's draft = my invisibility.

Still, though, is our D-Line now set for the next few seasons with these first two picks? Seems to me any time you have an entire line anchored with talent you're a step up the ladder in competing.

Thank you. And I agree wholeheartedly with that analysis. I hope they like Benard as another end rusher enough to get a second-tier CB, and maybe a guy like Sidney Rice comes to Cleveland as a free agent.

We'll get a WR or two saturday. again, just listen to Hechgren. They are flat out telling you what they will do and then doing it.

Would expect a DE or two thru FA. I think Roth is gone. Word is he was back to his dooshbag ways last year

Of course - he has to be now. Sure, in 2011 when you're making wholesale changes in scheme on both sides of the ball. You have to go need. And this may continue until we get competitive. But who can tell what he'll do in a couple of years when we're one or two guys away from being the class of the AFC?

"When DE Jabaal Sheard was reinstated last season, University of Pittsburgh coach Dave Wannstedt said, "Until this incident, his behavior has always been representative of the high standards we have for our program on and off the field."
