Day 2 Targets

Unread postby yogi » Fri Apr 29, 2011 7:18 am

With Taylor teaming with Rubin, DT is looking better though we still need another for rotation and keeping the big guys fresh.

Below are the 2nd round picks and possible targets available per GBN:
http://www.gbnreport.com/updatedtop100.html
@37

Bowers DE
Sheard DE
Houston DE
Reed DE
Wilson LB

@59

A. Bailey DE
Jernigan WR
Cobb WR
Hankerson WR
Young WR
Little WR
Nevis DT

I think DE has to be addressed in at least 1 of the picks, maybe even both. Looks like WR talent will also be there if Heckholm like what is available.
Taking Nevis at 59 looks real tempting and would give us a nice setup at DT though.

My preference: WR Leonard Hankerson from Miami Fla at #39. And the best defensive end on the board at #57.

I am with you Swerb on WR help.

In fact when KC picked up Baldwin, WR from Pitt at 26, I wondered if that's not who we should have taken instead of Taylor. Not because I know ANYTHING about Taylor or Baldwin, but because I know we have no WRs that scare anyone (except our OC).

Brooks Reed, baby. If we get that gift? ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh chiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllle. I would be happy as hell. The kid from UGA would be need + value as well.

If Reed gets picked, things get interesting. Hankerson is there, but so is Jurnigan.

Y'all will think I'm high, but I'd wait on WR until Saturday and load up on projects. I'd go either DE or CB with Aron Williams on the board with the next pick, and prolly with the pick after that take another. I'm also very tempted to go OL instead of WR. That monster ORT from Villanova is there, and I am 100% convinced that Stefan Wisnewski is a 10 year quality starter at RG.

Shitload of 1st round talent out there to be had still. Good move by Heckert.

There is also no way we stand pat sitting out round 3 with all those picks tomorrow.

I'd be happy with Sheard, Bowers, Houston, or Reed.

I agree that I wont be heart broken by waiting on the Wrs...very deep talent pool.

I like Tandon Doss a whole hell of a lot more than Hankerson, and we wouldn't have to burn a #39 pick to get him.

Still would LOVE a sanz pick in late 4th. Probably make a fantastic WCO WR IMO.

In no order I'm looking at these guys for our 2nd rounders:

Aaron Williams
Brandon Harris
Austin
Bowers
Sheard
Paea
Wilson
G. Jones
Doss
Moffit

I like Hankerson and Doss and a few other WR's, but this team needs a playmaking tight end too, and Rudolph is still out there. Sure wouldn't mind seeing one of those 2nd rounders spent on him.

It can only be #39 though Dan, and being that that is the case, I can't possibly fathom taking him given the Defensive needs of the team.

If Bowers is there..you take him, and from the sounds of it last night, it seemed to catch Heckert's attention that he was still on the board.

great value pick right there.

When he was asked about it, he said he was amazed he was still on the boards, and said that when he visited the Browns they really didn't seem to see any issues with him.

I'm ok with them taking him if he's there, but I will be pretty disappointed if we make a move to get him.

Mel Kiper predicts:

Titus Young, WR, Boise St.
Justin Houston, DE, Georgia

USA Today has us going Cobb with one of the picks.

like him a bit better, good speed, decent size. A bit on the short side, but overall wouldn't be upset with him as the draft pick,

SD:

Have to agree , we should avoid injury prone Courtney redux , but in the second with that type of talent he maybe worth a hardesty type gamble , prefer we look at some healthier alternatives however

Well if our Drs cleared him, we'd have ourselves a good DL.

Take a look at this 2nd round mock. Its got me feeling good!

FWIW: if you don't blackout and prememptively melt down or jizz your pants tonight I'm done with the draft JB. Only part of it worth following is your traditional exceptionalism.

Sorry.

I miss Butch & Phil, too. This damn Heckert guys just keps drafting solid but un-sexy building blocks. Thinks he's building a damn team or something.

Dude, you should be a rapper.

Not sure I would call him a project. He played DE in Nevada, when people call him a project, I think they view him as a 34 OLB project. His size/speed makes him an ideal Jauron DE, IMO.

ok, I've always heard him labeled as a project whenever his name comes up. But if he's played DE and thats the plan in our new 4-3, I'm fine with it.
