Heckert press conference thoughts

From what I took away, he's not looking for a WR with that first pick, rather someone on the d-line. He kind of talked down the need of the position by his Philadelphia Corp. of receivers talk. Todd Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell....yeah.

They won't pass on Peterson if he's there and if he's gone they're taking the highest rated DL on their board. That's that as far as I believe.

I'm with ya.

And I really believe a couple acquisitions in terms of WRs in later rounds and via free agency and this offense is crisper, more effective and more efficient. As with the WR article on the front page I'm with JTA in being intrigued by C. Mitchell and the guys the Browns have already in a system that better suits them and the guy delivering them the ball.

We'll see.

But I agree stacking up the defense is the way to go. There's a dearth of defensive linemen on the roster. I don't think there will be after May 1st.

The new braintrust needs to do the same.

7 - Anything else

just had a talk with a friend from clemson and he seemed to speak highly of him, said the injury stuff has been over hyped, and that Bowers was playing with a messed up knee all season and still looked great.

Won the Nagurski and ACC DPOY.

Could be a good fit, afterall, the last DE from Clemson to play for the Brownies didn't turn out to be all that bad.

I'm all for beefing up the DL, but if they drafted Green then, backed it up with Heyward or Austin in the 2nd and continued with Nevis in the 3rd, isnt that addressing issues?

What I'd like to see is Peterson or Gabbert being there but used as ammo to trade down and pick up another 2nd round pick. Many ways to go here though, exciting time of the year to be a Browns fan (again)!
