For anyone who remembers, the first ep had an aweful lot of similarities to David Lynch's Twin Peeks from 20 years ago:
-Both take place in Washington
-Who killed Rosie Larson/Laura Palmer
-The necklace
-Deaths of popular high school seniors
-Everyone has secrets, a bit loco and could be suspects

The chick cop is also playing a spin off of Clarice. She's doing it real fucking well but she's doing it.

So you managed to forget the day The Killing and almost GoT started after being fully aware of both?
Dunce.

Peek- I think my reaction to that type of stuff has definitely changed since I've had a kid. And he's only 2. I couldn't imagine watching that with a 17 YO. Holy Hell.

As JJN said, the third episode keeps you as intertwined in the community and family every bit as much as the first two.

Not sure I can take 13 weeks like the first two.![]()
That speaks to the emotions generated by the subject matter. But it's (thus far) one of the few shows on TV I've watched recently that makes you feel any way.

Not to give anything away but the 3rd episode is much darker than the 1st two. Watch with caution.

Cannot concur. They were camping that weekend, no? Dad wouldn't have thought that was odd? Mom's reaction would be pretty damn amazing as well with the voicemail reaction, the sleeping in the bed, etc.
Be more inclined right now to believe it was one of dad's employees or even that Skyler chick if she wasn't the size of a chop stick.
The picking out of caskets was fun. Same with meeting with the priest. The icing was the cops leaving their office door open and showing off the pics.
Good times.

My pick for the who-done-it at the beginning was the teacher, Bennet (couldn't remember his name until the end of the last ep). But, I've never been so sure that he didn't do it, now. It's way too early to out the prime suspect and have it be the guy. He was kind of a fringe suspect (like almost every other character on the show) until last night.
Unless the producers KNOW that people will think it's too likely and they are just trying to throw us off and it will end up being him. Then again, if they are smart enough to know that, they will know that we've figured that out so there's no way it's him. And that's why I think it's probably him.
The lesson, as usual, is never get into a land war in Russia.

He was one of my dark horses until the last episode. The way he was talking to Rosie's mother just made him seem to genuinely care about her, in a romantic way. I guess he could have gone in a jealous rage at some point but it just doesn't seem likely.

Right now the top suspect is Bennet (the Teacher) with 28% of the vote, which makes me more sure that he's not the guy. I picked a guy I hadn't really thought of, Tom Drexler, the millionaire. He's way down at 3%.
It's pretty cool, but this tracker will be all over the place before the end of the season.

That had occured to me, dude. At this point I would be disappointed if that's how it plays out. It seems like it would be a copout, as if they are trying to force the most unlikely, last guy you would ever suspect, just for the sake of artificial unpredictability.
