I'm not a huge fan of texas hold 'em. It's too scripted for me, like black jack. Follow the "rules" and bet according to the book. Too mechanical.
Anybody play Follow the Queen, Jacks or better trips to win, midnight baseball, balls, low spade splits the pot, criss cross, 7 card stud and so on?
We play once a month. 20 dollar buy in , dealer calls the hand, 2 dollar max bet.
You can buy as many more chips as you need.
Anybody still play free style poker like this?

We get 20 ,30, 40 dollar pots. Sometimes you get 4 very good hands battling it out. Nothing worse than having 4 jacks losing to 4 queens... if you're the sucker with the 4 jacks.
And we don't play wild cards very often....in our defense.

Be fun to get a group togther and hit up the Nautica poker thing...
Mother's story would have made me laugh if it wasn't the fact I get nervous before every game... Get that first win though and its hours of battles.
