Cavaliers Anti-Magic Number

Unread postby googleeph2 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:28 pm

After tonite's games:

Cavaliers 15 - 59

Timberwolves 17 - 58

If my math is right:

81 + 1 - 59 - 17 = 6.

Anti-Magic number is 6. Right?

Cleveland: Probably will not run the table. Not gonna be easy.)

Honestly, it is not looking good for us to get the most number of ping pong balls.

With the way the Cavs are playing we probably go 4 and 4 the rest of the way.

With the T-wolves schedule they probably win 1 remaining game.

If we have the worst record we get 25% of the ping pong balls right? The second worst gets what 20% of the ping pong balls?

Cavaliers pulled out the loss against a weak Wash team. Anti-magic # is 5.

That one last night scared me. Good to get that loss.

I think the only thing Andray Blatche didn't do to JJ Hickson and the Cavs front line was handcuff them and put one of those weird red balls in their mouth.

What's nice is that the rest of the Wizard only grabbed 11 offensive rebounds with Blatche getting the other 16 himself (top go with his 36 points).

Yes, the Wiz had more offensive boards than the Cavs had defensive boards.

Now, I'm not big into numbers, but it would seem that's an indication that the Wizards probably had a few second chance opportunities.

Not a big deal, but isn't the magic number for last place 6? Minnesota is probably going to lose out which will leave them with 65 losses. We have 60 losses now. To "beat" Minnesota, we'll have to lose 6 more games or they have to win at least 1.

The saddest part.... Andre Blatche is my least favorite player in the NBA.

Remember when Monta was being a ball-hog fuck last year because he hated Nellie?

Blatche topped that this year. If you think JJ is the king of taking stupid 15 footers you haven't watched the Wiz (good lord no Young or Wall last night and we still lost)

Him and Javale combine for the stupidest front court in tAssociation. And yes, I know JJ plays in tAssociation.

Duh I was basing it on an 81 game season- had 1/2 of baseball's 162 games in mind.

Quickly flipped to the game knowing we were playing the Bobacats. Heard something abot, "... up by 20," and figured by the sound that we must be playing the Jazz. I looked very hard at the other team even though I knew we were playing Charlotte. I couldn't make myself believe that, "Cavs by 20," was actually said.

Do you ever find yourself thinking of bargaining away sports games you normally would care about, in order to get the win you want elsewhere? Maybe it's self psychology- like if you don't get you way in one game, maybe it's ok if another went your way because you rationalized it ahead of time.

Eg. It's 1-0 Boston over the Tribe right now, in the 4th. I hate the Red Sox, Beckett is a smug punk, and coming back to go 2-2 would feel really good right now. And it would keep Boston winless. Is there an outcome of the Cavalier game which would make it OK to lose the Tribe game?

WHOOOPS Tribe scored. Deal is OFF. HAAAAA

We are going to pass Minnesota. Our 5 games are much more winnable than their 4 remaining.

We sure do suck at sucking

I think it would be fun if teams could trade ping pong balls after the reg season, before they're drawn.

They twist around the rules in so many trade/cap ways, why not that?

Ah well, Cavs win a back to back, finishing on the road. Might as well enjoy it.

With 98% of the precincts reporting, we are calling this race.

The Timberwolves are your loser. They advocated very little and ran a consistently negative campaign.
They failed to focus on the issues which mattered to Minnesotans.

Only twice, I believe, in the curent lottery format has the team w/ the worst record received the overall #1. How did having teh worst record work out for NJ last year?

Good point, but I'd maximize my chances if I had any say.
Like with the NCAA. Next year, I want tOSU to get a #1 seed again, despite the fact that no #1s made the final 4 this yr.

Also: I'd have traded having the most ping pong balls to Minn, if I could have gotten a guarantee that the cHeat would lose to Milwaukee, so there's that.

I don't think tht is the issue. The issue is drop protection.

At least having pick 3 is better than picks 7 & 8 , hypthetically. may as well draft maya freakin' Moore.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nba_draft_lottery

It's not a huge drop, the worst team has a 64% chance at a top 3 pick while the 2nd worst team has a 56% chance. The question is where does this draft's first big dropoff happen? #3? #4?

This drafts big drop off happens after Kyrie.

After that DWillII and Barnes (if he isn't a bitch) are gonna be your next crop (which tells you how bad this draft is).

After that it turns into a big fucking mess.

Sounds about right. And while I still like the deadline Clippers trade (Baron is a decent player, Mo's contract sucked, and it's not my money), we're seeing more and more that the 8th pick was available for cash for good reason. I'm just hoping we can get a solid 4th-6th man type with that pick.

BTW, I like the LPD gloss. TMLP always seemed unfair (we complained when other owners have been too passive, and there was work to do when Gilbert arrived and the nickname stuck).

I'd have stopped just short of starting Jamison, Varejao, Joey Graham, Campy Russell and Austin Carr.

These fucking morons have been gifted a better chance at a PG they can plug and play for 10 ye...well...from the time he's drafted til the first chance to leave and they're gonna go hell bent for leather for win 18.

Chuckie V. and Hollins got tangled up throughout the game, ejected after grabbing him by the throat. Chuckie trying to get into the Cavs locker room after the game looking for Hollins.

Some serious mental health issue going on when you look at the film and hear the reports. Flipped over after it all went down, saw the replay only.

So your saying that MSB is tweeting that the Cavs locker room is on lockdown and under heavy security. And the Cavs are "worried"...because Chaz Villinueava is mad at Ryan Hollins?
