Wow cable & internet

Anyone out there have it? My bill for cable and internet thru shitty time warner just keeps going up and up. My year end "bargain" I was supposedly getting has expired. This coming after my 3 month "bargain" made it go up then, too. Gas is making feel like I shoulda been in Deliverance. I'm not big into movies and shows and all that. I watch mostly sports. News. Old re-runs. Big ID network fan. Don't care about HD. Don't care about DVR and that crap as well.

Can someone tell me what the difference between this (•2Mbps Internet speed, 35 times faster than dial-up) and this (•8Mbps Internet speed, 140 times faster than dial-up) means. Is it a whole new world difference in speed or barely noticable at all?

These are the 2 packages I am looking at. My latest bill for T.W. was $132.

The second one is 105 times faster

Yup. Price is a joke. Would drop it, but I would have no other way to get Internet at home.

I've had WOW Internet and phone for five years. No complaints at all, and great customer service. I picked up WOW TV to get the bundle price last fall after having Dish for about three years. No diff in WOW and Dish standard definition shows, but Dish HD is much superior. I'd go back to Dish in a New York minute if it weren't about $30 (almost a tank of gas) more per month (no bundle price).

That said, spent $63 to fill up my Grand Cherokee. My mental threshold is $50 a tank so I need to start filling up earlier.

Oh and Cable and Internet is a fucking rip job. They wanted me to pay $16 a month to add HD to my TV in my bedroom. I started laughing and hung up. Fuckin' comcast.

I gots the WOW and have no complaints. Got it mainly for phone b/c Verizon signal in my house blows. I am not a gamer or A/V loader/downloader, so the cheapie internet connection is just fine with me. Doesn't get me shutout of bars, or restaurant type places. Red-err, YouTube works just fine on cheapie internet.

WOW is late to the digital party, and are still converting signals- forcing you to attached extra adapter to your "other" TV's receiving cable for digital experience. Kind of a pain in the butt.

One more thing- WOW is right in Parma and is a very small outfit for a multi-system operator. Their niche is being right below the big boys on price, the service meets my minimal standards.

Price of food, price of gas, driving in the snow, weather, kids today blah blah, when I was your age, what I would do to that chick (no you won't yer old)...

Ziner is right. They all will wind up being the same high price for the same basic services. Have WOW and its the same bs you describe of Time Warner. They also went digital on nearly all their basic channels so you need a box for every TV. Even if your TV is cable ready. I'd lose cable if it wasn't for the internet bundle. I think the only TV I watch besides sports is Top Gear on BBC America.

Yes, it will be noticeable, but it depends on how much and what you do online..

Going by everything else you said concerning how you use the TV services, I would say the lower price would be fine...doesn't sound like you do alot of huge downloading or uploading...just basic web surfing.
