I'm OK with it so far. Nothing to go WOW about yet, but nothing putting me to sleep (see also "Mildred Pierce" zzzzzzz).
Could be another Boardwalk Empire that really gets going once you know the characters better.
Jeremy Irons is awesome, no matter what.

I was looking forward to it and was bored after 20 minutes. Seems to be in the same vein as Rome/Tudors/Spartacus just mixing in gratuitous nudity with wooden acting and period costumes and sets.
Fuck the Browns...

From what I saw, Jeremy Irons was good. I've never heard of any of the other actors and it showed in their performances.

Pillars Of The Earth wasn't bad.
Spartacus was mindless fun.
Rome was incredible.

Liked Rome & Tudors, but I hear everyone on the "period porn" stuff...
I'll give it about 30 minutes and see how goes...
Is HBO's Thrones gonna be in the same realm? (no pun intended)

Early reviews on Thrones are universally awesome.

Having read Game of Thrones, I can tell you there should be no shortage of nudity/gore, which would put it in the "period porn" realm with Tudors & Rome, etc.
BTW, both shows I enjoyed immensely. Nudity? Good. Gore? Good. Evil bitches that betray everyone? Good.

Oh, BTW, I caught the first episode of Camelot, and I've had dumps better thought out (most of them, in fact). The nudity is the ONLY thing it has going for it, and it'd have to be wall-to-wall to keep that POS worthwhile.

The first half hour or so was pretty rough, but I liked it after that. After the pope-hatting (crowning?) ceremony, the plot and intrigue start to pick up. Should be a nice addition to TV (along with The Killing and Game of Thrones) now that most series are winding down their seasons.

I guess I can blame this on Game of Thrones, but after barely making it through last week's boring episode, I just turned the TV to something else 25 minutes into tonight's episode.
It's not quite the train wreck that was John from Cincinnati, but it is totally lame and worthless.
