They're different and combine alot of elements into their music. The drummer is one of the best around.

Been trying to bolster my overall collection, so recently I downloaded a couple Beatles and Rolling Stones albums that I didn't have. But as for newer music, the last thing I downloaded was Sea of Cowards by The Dead Weather.

Not with streaming music, Sirius & Pandora, The Summit on line and on-line music services.

I think the last CD I bought that I thought was the shit from A to Z was Amy Winehouse, back when I though DA would be a good NFL quarterback once he corrected his deficiencies. 2007?

Now we're talkin' , esp w/ the BK's. Didn't purchase the whole CD's but downloaded a few of the joints I like best. Right now Fitz and the Tantrums is probably my heaviest rotation. Like the new Kings of leon much, much better than anything they've done to this point as well. Although what y'all might call 'altenative' I might just call what's left of r n r . None is left on Billboard. Just bad wannabe R & B (I refuse to call the parade of indistinguishable female disco singers with MC's doing their bridges real R & B ) , bubblegum, and a few dinosaurs sqeezing out a last buck from time to time.

That flick is on HBO sometimes lately. It is all so horrible and cheesy it is outstanding. Queen plays thru almost the whole thing as ambianent soundtrack, mostly may's guitar. Freakin' Topol as King of the Hawkmen is epic. He should be in Moscra's movie.

The first album I bought was Black Sabbath on cassete tape. I was just a kid and we had all heard that if you listened to it you would be possesed by the devil. So I ran out a bought one.

No devil, just some bad ass rock with Ozzy singing about drug refrences that I had no clue about.....

Miss the dept store music sections. Uncle Bills area was set back and darkened a little, kinda like a Spencers Gifts. Posters of the latest releases were strewn about trying like mad to make it seem like a independent record store. Too bad it was right next to the kitchen aides section.

Used to buy my 45's at Peaches and store 'em in the Peach crate

First Album I remember owning was Air Supply, Lost In Love. I think my parents bought me that, though. (Lay off. I was just a kid.)

The first one I think I paid for myself was probably J. Geils Band Freeze Frame. Which was, and continues to be a great album.

But, who knows for sure? I'm actually a little jealous of people who can clearly remember things like this and their first ballgame etc.

LOL, I haven't paid for music since 1995, and I've never purchased a new album, I think I bought a used Song Remains the Same LP once. Last good CD I bought was probably a Tom Petty one or a Time Life special whachamacallit.

Funny though after all these years I am looking to purchase some used CD's, my ELO collection is embarrassingly lacking now that I think about it.

In my buddy's basement (where I'll be watching ball and playing TW11 tonight as a matter of fact) he has a jukebox filled with nothing but 45's. And while you'd think it would be all older stuff in there you'd be stunned to see all the Foo Fighters, The Donnas, and a bunch of modern music in there along with a ton of old shit (90's, 80's, some 70's). Seems a lot of bands make 45's to this day for collectors and for marketing purposes.

My buddy goes to some place in Pittsburgh that's apparently the Mecca for such shit and supplements that with e-bay purchases.

But yeah, part of the draw is the snapping and popping. It's a distinct sound, not as sterile as stuff is now.
