Essentially, the Cavs gave up Delonte West and a 2nd round pick in 2013 for these guys. Outside of hearing how Delonte did Lebron’s Mom, every time he came into the game.. I would do the trade in a heartbeat. The Euro 7ft that seems to have toughness is a win. Another solid under the radar trade for the Cavs to get younger, better defensively, help the worst rebounding team in the NBA(and maybe major college basketball), and actually have an inside presence. I have thumbs up.

If you can turn what will likely be no better than the 50th pick in the 2013 draft into two role players you're doing well. Not to mention one is 7'0 tall and the other is a white named Luke from Notre Dame who will be a fan favorite like Brian Scalabrine and who fans will ay "Luuuuuuuuke" every time he comes into the game.

Seriously, two guys with size and a year of solid NBA experience for the 50th+ pick a year from now? Gotta do that all day.

Another solid under the radar trade for the Cavs to get younger,very novel

Erden started seven games for Boston, averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 minutes while shooting 67 percent. The Cavs are convinced he can develop into a useful big man over the next few seasons.


It's impossible to know how Grant will draft until we see where the Cavs are picking -- and how they turn out. But his first trades are promising. He sent West to Minnesota for Ramon Sessions, Hollins and a second-rounder. He shipped that 2013 second-rounder to Boston for Erden and Harangody. So the Cavs turned West into Sessions, Hollins, Harangody and Erden. Sessions is emerging as the Cavs' starting point guard of the future."

It's early, but maybe this Grant guy won't work out too badly after all.

Also, Pluto reported that many NBA executives were "stunned" that Gilbert was willing to spend so much money when attendence will surely decline next year. What a difference between the Cavs and Indians ownership in terms of willingness to commit money to improve the product. Although that may be changing with the Tribe considering how much they spent on their draft picks last year.

On the down side, the Cavs weren't able to move Parker or Jamison. And they ended up with Baron Davis.

Jamison to Golden State for (essentially) Biedrins.

Also, the trade exception for Rip and a semi-protected 2012 first-rounder. That's the move I wish we could have made. I'm "meh" on Biedrins, so I'm not upset this one didn't go through. His contract isn't very good.
