Weird Impulses

No, not talking about CDT's garage or Donny's obsession with Diane Lane......... :hide:

But anyone ever decide to go way outside your comfort zone?

As in "this weekend I'm gonna make Korean BBQ" or "I really want to try making homemade gnocchi?

If so, what did you try and how did it turn out?

Really want to start making pasta at home but don't have a machine and not sure if it's worth the effort
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

It's worth the effort.

So is this:

Wheat starch dough = cool.
Q: What is the best/craziest location you've ever gotten lucky A: Mens room. Death Valley. (Fire Marshall Bill, 08/13/10)

Plus it's kinda personal for me... I have a lot of family and friends who are Ducks... (angrybeaver, 11/08/09)

The content of this thread does not match the title. I was expecting midget porn or something.

No, Matt, I've never been bi-curious, if that's what you are looking for as far as affirmation.

But I have no issue with you doing that so long as it is between consenting adults. It's all good as far as I'm concerned.

I'd do a 3 way with another woman involved, though.

Nope. It's hot when women admit that. No so much with dudes, eh?

But in all seriousness, I had a thing with making chinese (not asian, dammit) food sauces a little while ago, so I get it. That, and martini's... but that's not a phase. It's more like channelling Roger Sterling.

Recent experiments

Penne with vodka sauce - so simple yet so different - a big hit
Creme brûlée - unbelievably easy and the kids loved it. Not an everyday thing though
Marisco - classic Spanish sauce - turned out well but just feh overall
Pulled pork shoulder tacos - very simple - just takes awhile in the oven

Next up - Korean short ribs

Been on a grilled cheese with jalapenos kick lately. Dipped in ketchup kicked up with Tabasco.

That count?

Of course it counts.

Sounds like Melt withdrawls to me. You might want to see a doctor and have that looked at. ;-) ;)

Been working on recreating the pan pizza from Pizza Hut at home. Still tweaking a few things here and there but the last attempt this weekend has been the closest.

Taking on beef and chicken chimichangas this weekend. Gonna let the meat stew in either a mole sauce or a green chili sauce before I fill the tortillas to give the meat added flavor.
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB
