Windy Reports Major Trade Rumor on Rizzo

Just turned on Tony Rizzo's radio show and they are talking about a rumor that Brian Windhorst reported earlier on their show. I guess the Cavs have a major deal on the table and have had it on the table for about a month. He stated that he could not report the player but it was a big financial commitment for them.

Any speculation? Greg Oden? Monte Ellis?

If it's a major financial commitment, I'd think it would have to be a game-changing kind of player, or a infusion of draft picks. The Cavs don't need more salary right now as a team bottoming out before a rebuild. They'd have to be incentivized to take on major salary.

If it's been a month and they haven't moved on it yet, it probably means there's internal debate over the viability of the deal. Either that, or they're holding out for something they really want.

I'm not a big "Announcer X sucks!" guy but the RBS is hot garbage. Cleveland has some of the most knowledgeable sports fans in the country and our flagship radio show sounds like it's targeted at sorority girls. Rizzo completely spins his wheels to mask his limited sports knowledge and Fedor/Goldhammer/whoever else get wayyyyy too much rope. For a great sports town, the sportsradio is simply a joke. I went to school in Michigan and Detroit's media runs circles around ours with the exception of this site.

I wouldn't be excited at all by the above. IMO thats trading Sessions for Sessions light. Mo Evans is an ending 2.5 whatever. Makes 0 sense. Unless a draft pick(s) are involved. Still hurumph.

Hmmm...big financial commitment, big deal (but not blockbuster).

Bargniani/Calderon? Rip Hamilton? Devin Harris? Rashard Lewis (not even sure we have enough $ to get him)? Maggette, Captain Jack, Rudy Gay, Monte Ellis, Baron Davis?

Those are the players I can think of that fit the bill. Some of them I'd take if I got draft picks with the contract (like Baron Davis). The only ones I really like are Gay and Ellis.

Hawks have had a hard-on for Sessions for quite a while. Don't know why. But the Cavs like him and don't really want to part with him. I think it's much ado about nothing.
