Let's get this started. If you guys have information about an upcoming TV game, let's hear it. Let's watch these games and maybe we can get more games on the local tube. maybe even on STO. What's better than high school football on a fall night?
Thursday night (the three lettered sports network) will feature the game between the Wadsworth Grizzlies and the Medina Bees.
What once was a bitter rivalry (these two teams are no longer in the same conference), but being 11 miles apart they still don't like each other. Last year Medina ran up the scoreboard on Wadsworth and that has not been forgotten in Grizzly country.
Wadsworth brings back tailback Dru Jones as the main weapon. They come in at 2-0 with a quad-OT win in Wooster, and a 38-14 win over Cuyahoga Falls Friday. Wadsworth sits at #6 in D1 Region 2. Wadsworth missed the playoffs (and a Suburban League title) last year by one game.
After making the post season last year, Medina was expected to go again this year but got pounded by Hudson in week one. Last week they beat a rebuilding Barberton team despite 7 turnovers. They have speed at reciever with Montreal Wade and at tailback with Reggie Hough.
Both teams are expected to make a lot of noise in the Region 2 playoff race. Region 2 is this quarter of the state (as the big schools are divided), for the best coverage of the playoff race, add http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/2007region_2.html to your favorites.
