I know I'm not the only one who didn't really enjoy the regular season last year all that much (and to some degree the year before as well). It all felt so meaningless, like a 6 month long preseason to the inevitable playoffs. Somehow, despite all the losing, I'm kinda sorta enjoying this season even more than last year. First off, if you gotta root for a bad team, its kinda fun to root for a historically bad team, yknow? Plus when (if) the Cavs win a game, I will actually celebrate it, unlike last year when I expected it. I was cheering my ass off at the game last night when Graham hit the game tying 3. Last year, it would have probably just elicited an "about time".

So is it just me? Am I crazy?

I don't think healthy Andy intimidates/stops people from driving the lane at will. Can't defend the three when half the team has to collapse the middle to prevent a lay-up drill. Dunno how old you are OJ. Let's suffice it to say that in my 35 years or so of conscious Cavs hoops they had the Miracle of Richfield season and MAYBE three of the seasons of LeBron as 'legit' title contenders. I'll fall off my chair if anyone thought the Daugherty Cavs was that team as opposed to a decent finesse team in a town dying to make more out of any decent team than it actually was worth.

The Browns have had the same number of those chances in the 35 years or so I've been watching, only difference being the majority of Cavs chances came in last 10 years while the Browns literally started over from ground zero.

You want a legit comparison? Compare this Browns team to the first 11 years of the Cavs.

End of day this is asking if you prefer a kick in the balls or a shovel to the face. None of it matters and it's a pissing contest of the most pathetic proportion. But please man, don't tell me I'm not aware of the number of shit seasons. I've had far more of these lost seasons with both teams than ones with hope. So I tend to remember the hopeful one pretty well.

And O, stop. The Cleveland Cavaliers, wire to wire, are in the argument for sorriest franchise ever. And, if not for a fortuitous ping pong ball, they'd be the front runner. I've said this before, but Christ, you could argue they've had two days that have given them any relevance. Daugerty, HR, Price draft day, and LBJ day. They've had far more history making days of comedy, such as being banned from trading or taking the word of a modern NBA player and letting him walk.

You can call the Browns a joke, but if you're doing it as a defender of the Cavs...hypocritical isn't a strong enough word.

By the way, what a pathetic position us Cleveland sports fans are in. We are no more pathetic then basing our sports fandom existence on rooting for other teams to lose, instead of our to win. My "aware" years begin in the very late 80's. Pretty sure I confined everything to that time frame.
