Was reading about Danny Greene's assasination (which took place in Lyndhurst) on Wiki. Kinda crazy that someone actually planted a bomb near his car.

Danny was blown up in the parking lot of my sisters orthodontist. Saw the cop tape and blast marks on the lot as a kid.

Looking forward to this one not only because its a local story, but for a strong cast as well. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm somehow related to John Scalish on my mom's side which is neat. Though its not something the family ever talks about.

The company I worked for had an old location in the Waterloo business district. So close to Danny Green's house that their windows blew out when they tried to blow him up. Rumor had it that he got blown from the second floor to the first, the reality was, he was saved by his refridgerator door. My boss was on a bowling team backed by him.

Anyway, to Lubbers point about arrogance and BALLS. Setting up a trailer on the very spot your blown up house used to be, and sitting in the front yard in a lawn chair. Brass.

Damned guy just errored in allowing his chick to make his dental appointment.

The other thing with the book is I just thought it would have been better had an experienced writer actually tackled it.

Porcello was an Eastlake cop and not a writer. It was just choppy in parts. I give him credit for telling the story and taking on the huge challenges of getting a book published though.

Yeah, great story, but the problem with the book is it's a pretty tough read, because it's not really written well. If I didn't have big interest in the subject from being around that area, I'm not sure I make it through the book.

It was filmed in Detroit, but they took landscape shots of Cleveland so that it umm.. looked like Cleveland instead of Detroit.
