Vinegar on french fries is outstanding. As are sweet potatoes in any form.

If you like fried bologna, you gotta try the fried bologna sammich at the Buckeye Beer Engine in Lakewood. If you like chicken and waffles, they are a menu specialty at the new Deagan's on Detroit in Lakewood. Off the charts good.

This is a guy who should have the respect of all of us.

Downtown that is probably where you want to head. If you feel like getting out of the immediate downtown and I have many more suggestions. If you are feeling pizza downtown give Pizano's a shot. 1a and 1b with Malnatis.

As unfriendly as this guy is I just can't help agreeing with him 90% of the time. The other 10% I just happen to be wrong on. Johnny's uses beef base for many of its sauces instead of starting with a freshly made mirepoix beef stock.

We have to dig deeper...

Sans Souci is still there. We actually did some wall repair in their a couple years ago. The "original" Johnny's is on Fulton near St. Rocco's. Today the stuff is happening at East 4th. You have Lola and Greenhouse Tavern. Also L'Albatros in University Circle would be a top choic of mine...

But, eh, I prefer comfort food with unhealthy natual ingredients in large portions. So I only frequent the above when necessary. The knowledge of these places is passed onto me from my brother who manages/cooks at one of those places...

Couple times during the summer and about 5 New Years Eve weekends in a row..... NYE at Blue Point was $400 for 2 about 4 yrs ago
