Ted Williams told Good Morning America on Thursday that he's taking the Cavs job. Not sure what he'll be doing. Olivier Sedra, who has a pretty good voice himself, will continue as the PA announcer.

Maybe Gilbert has an eye on Williams to replace Joe Tait after he retires? Give him a summerlong crash course in basketball, and make him the new voice of the Cavs next season.

I'd tune in just to listen to Williams call the game with that voice. He'd easily rival Paul Keels for best PBP voice on area radio.

He used to do Oldies radio here in the 80's and early 90's. He's already got a job doing voice overs for MSNBC, and 3 local companies for radio spots....... and WNCI said they would pay him 10 large plus get him a place to live.

Funny thing is...the first thing I thought of was "Susan Boyle"! This guy has a radio voice and a very goodone. Great story...I just thoght it would come out later that he has done radio...People who do the radio spots are just like this guy. As far a listening to him full time? Nope! Although he sounds good in small amounts, I would turn the channel...too much "FM Dj sound"...I could see or hear him on a oldies station no doubt.

UPDATE: Police were called to his hotel room in NY where he was staying for a TV show taping. He and his daughter were arguing so loudly that people called the cops. Transported downtown and detained for over an hour, no charges filed. His kids are probably thinkign he owes them some money now that he is getting PAID!
