IMO not a leak but Harbaugh didn't pick up the phone. At this point if they cannot get a legit guy, their guy, and one of their own, they are stuck b/c with RRod they suck and if he leave it is at least 3 more years of suck until a real system is reloaded into that program.

scum has nobody to blame but themselves, the second they hired RRod they set the program back 5 years, at minimum.

I have ESPN on in the background and one of their guys just said Miles would still be a candidate. You hearing anything along those lines?

Everything I've read is all in for Harbaugh and then Hoke as a sure-thing backup plan if/when that fails.

All I know about Hoke is he's from Ohio and coached at michigan under Carr. He had success at Ball State which is impressive and he just finished a 9-win season at SD State after winning only 4 in his first season.

His Ohio ties and being a "michigan man" would bring an interesting dynamic back to the rivalry.

I've got a love/hate thing going with Les right now. Everytime I get to the point where I want to cut ties, he reels me back in. Sometimes I think that maybe he's some secret genius that's just fucking with us. But to answer the question about what we're hearing... not much. Miles made some comments today about it, but it was typical Les-speak. I haven't found the decoder ring for his press clippings yet.

As for the buyout, it's 1.25 mill for Michigan (contract linked below). I believe they paid right at double to WV for Rodriguez.

The problem with Hoke would be that it would take a complete shift of recruiting and personnel, so it would be a couple year turnaround. He runs a pro-style offense, so the run/pass is usually 50/50 or thereabouts. The biggest question would be how he handles a couple more years of Denard Robinson. Ryan Lindley, his current SDSU QB, had 158 rushing yards and no more than 46 in a game. But SDSU's RB led the conference in yards.

They hung right with TCU, though definitely deficient of talent on both sides of the ball against them. I think he'd be a good fit and he'd bring the rivalry back to some level of respectability.

Let's rewind to when JT was hired at tOSU. There were some interesting debates on the boards about Mason Vs. JT for sure but.... From perusing the Michigan board, isn't pretty much anything outside of Harbaugh going to create huge rifts? People seem seriously bent over there when arguing about Hoke, Miles, and whatever other rumors (Pelini??) of guys besides Harbaugh. So much so that you can see another RichRod situation brewing where the guys comes in with wavering support. (not that I give two shits).

Not due to his credit, but more because I have serious doubts about this administration being able to go out and make a solid coaching hire this late in the game. A week ago I thought that there was no way Miles would leave LSU, but in the past 5 days (after a few occurences) I have changed my tune.

Smoke around here is that they'll consummate the deal tomorrow in Dallas (AFCA convention) and he will be announced/introduced to the public Wednesday. If I heard correctly, I think they have a home hoops game Wednesday night against Ohio St so I would imagine he'd get his audience there. Still a fluid situation right now, wouldn't be surprised if Miles has a change of heart.

Right now I'd list it 65-35 (leaning towards Michigan). Whatever will happen will happen tomorrow. In 24 hours we'll know where Miles will hang his big ass hat next year.

LSU seems to be a program that can be quite interchange-able with talent at the HC position and still be one of the elite programs in CFB due in part to the talent in louisana and texas.
