TCU Billboards in Columbus

Unread postby peeker643 » Fri Jan 07, 2011 1:41 pm

Awesome.

Multiple billboards congratulating TCU on its Rose Bowl victory popped up in Columbus, Ohio, several days after the Horned Frogs defeated Wisconsin 21-19.

If I drive past one, I am putting a rock through it. I have a cannon for an arm and am quick enough to escape police pressure.

It is pretty funny.

But hey at least we aren't running off to the Big Least so we can walk into a BCS game every year.

TCU would have been in the Vegas Bowl or Holiday Bowl if not for the BCS. Exactly 00000000000000% chance of a Rose Bowl berth w/o it.

Frogs should lurve them some BCS, even moreso now they're in a BCS conference that actually sucks more than the conference they're leaving.

Except TCU is now part of the establishment....little late for that billboard considering TCU jumped ship from the non-AQ's grouping.

Utah as well, which leaves BSU as their lone representative. For now.

Billboard is a non-starter IYAM.

Till then all you can do is pray for a match-up......and deal with it

You have no bulletts left and the rest of America thinks its some really great stuff

Just a few weeks ago TCU was just another undeserving outsider...now everyone is gonna want a piece ...how's that workin out for them now, do you think?

Gee's statement was stupid.

I guess it would be no different if I lived in NEO and see Inbred putting up 41-9 signs.

So why did you quit on PSU?

Which was the whole point in posting it.

Let me mark this down, by the way:

1. No derogatory posts about TPeezy2 allowed whether they are factual or opinion-based. Not on these boards. :lmfao:

2. No 'TCU Billboards in Columbus' humor because that shit makes a Buckeye honk's ass redder than if you dragged him through the city on I71.

I'll see if we can petition the Chief to eliminate any and all posts that fail to show our Buckeyes in the most positive light possible.

Gotta give TCU credit. I've been bagging on em the last 3 years with most of the people who reside outside of the state of Texas. The team can play. I thought the Badgers were gonna roll over em after jamming that opening drive down their GD Horned Frog throats.

Then TCU outplayed em for the next 55 min.

Badgers had the best OL in the country this year. Were a very legit foe.

If there's a better coach in the country than Gary Patterson, someones gotta make the case to me.

If those idiots up north had any brains, they'd go after him.

Why would Miles leave such a sweet gig like LSU? Dude also makes $4+ million a year, which means any school courting him would have to offer Miles money that would put him in the Mack/Stoops/Saban echelon to make it worth his while to leave.

Cannot see any school doing that.

I wouldn't think so either, but the Miles to Michigan smoke has gotten thick since this afternoon. I'm guessing they are keeping Hoke on the burner until they get a confirmed yes or no from Miles. I'm thinking they announce Miles as their coach on Monday or Hoke as their coach on Tuesday.

I'll tell you what though, whoever is coaching this team next year has some serious young talent. If someone (Mettenburger, Jefferson) can consistently make good decisions under center they can make a run.

As the only major school in a state with more per capita talent than any other in the country, talent is never going to be a question mark. The question will always be about coaching and scheme (and keeping players from Special ed, er, Iberia Parish eligible, lulz).

Not buying the hype on Mettenburger and from what I've seen he's somewhat of a statue who can't move.

The defense also began to suck as the year went on, but we'll see. W/o Newton, Auburn comes back down to Earth next year and the SEC West will probably come down to the LSU at Bama game.

You got me wrong Peek, this billboard doesn't move me one way or the other.

Gee deserved some ridicule and he even participated in some self depreciation himself. I feel no personal responsibility for his comments.

But TCU seems to be acting as if they proved a point....like they are the first non-AQ to prove they can play with the big boys.

Regardless of Gee's comments, BSU beat Oklahoma in a bowl, beat the Pacten Champ last season, beat the ACC champ this season, Utah beat the piss out of Bama 2 years ago in a bowl....

TCU's victory is hardly revolutionary.

This billboard comes off a lot more like little man syndrome than anything else, and to me is particularly ironic considering they jumped faster than a rat off a sinking ship to join the establishment they are clamoring against in that billboard.

So badly in fact did they want to join the big boy table, that they joined an east coast league all the way from texas.

Hell equal parts of me wanted TCU to win, as I dont think that I dislike another coach more than Beilimma.

Bottom line, its an awfully ironic sign, and there is allot more egg on Whisky's face than Gee's.

God I agree on Bielema. Detestable the way he runs up scores and carries himself.

Guy never grew up :hide:

And I just thought the billboard was funny. Nothing more. Never looked deeper than 'funny'. Just how I'm built.

Now, my participation in this thread is over.
