$5 a gallon and rationing?

Unread postby skatingtripods » Mon Dec 27, 2010 8:23 pm

So says Shell's former president.

Think this actually has a legitimate chance at happening?

I think it has a decent chance of happening. It's going to run out at some point. I hate having a V8 truck when gas is $3 a gallon.....

Wait. I thought gas prices only went up because Arabs hated Bush.

Or because Bush had money tied up in oil and was profiting from the high prices.

I though Mr. Obama was going to go and smile and make nice with everyone and that would solve all of our problems.

Wait, the Mooselimbs still hate us? Thats crazy...don't they know Bush isn't president? Someone better tell al-Jazeera quick, that way they can give oil to us for free.

There are a lot of idiots peeling off those bumper stickers that say "When Bush was elected, gas was $1.50 a gallon."

It's not a shortage of oil, it's a shortage of brains and guts.

We get very little oil from Muslims, or the Middle East.

lol.

I do still remember all the stupid shit Bush did do.

And the Saudis love Brainless I and II. All those fighter jets and weapons will buy you alot in the House of Saud.

You want cheaper gas, build more refineries and start offing the speculators. But it is running out, and we may need the STOR in our life times.

And FTR Bush is no "oil man", being an oil man would imply he had a business sense above that of a retarded chimp. But obviously he didn't.

What do you want to bet Chavez ends up like Mussolini? Riddled with bullet holes and strung up by his boot heels.

Which is fine with me since he's a poison toad.

I remember a time when the American people had no problem abusing another nations resources. Those days were good, just don't think about it while your enjoying the fruits of their labor...

In South America he is just as likely to flat ass disappear.

Watched the documentary "Collapse" on Netflix. It was pretty interesting stuff, albiet the guy who is the focus on the film is a nut job grade A.

Collapse, directed by Chris Smith, is an American documentary film exploring the theories, writings and life story of controversial author Michael Ruppert. Collapse premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2009 to positive reviews.

Ruppert, a former Los Angeles police officer who describes himself as an investigative reporter and radical thinker, has authored books on the events of the September 11 attacks and of energy issues. His detractors[who?] call him a conspiracy theorist and an alarmist.

Director Smith interviewed Ruppert over the course of fourteen hours in an interrogation-like setting in an abandonned warehouse basement meat locker near downtown Los Angeles. Ruppert’s interview was shot over five days throughout March and April of 2009. The filmmakers distilled these interviews down to this 82 minute monologue with archival footage interspersed as illustration.

The title refers to Ruppert’s belief that unsustainable energy and financial policies have led to an ongoing collapse of modern industrial civilization.

The film does not overtly take a perspective on the validity of Ruppert’s positions and critics have alternatively described the film as supportive and as critical of Ruppert’s views. Smith himself, speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere, said that "What I hoped to reveal was ... that his obsession with the collapse of industrial civilization has led to the collapse of his life. In the end, it is a character study about his obsession." [1]

$3.49 and climbing. Some say it'll top out at $3.75 before Memorial Day.

Just a ploy by the big oil companies to get more coin out of Americans. It'll stay at $3.50 - $3.75 for a month then they'll drop it back down to $3.25 and we'll believe we're getting a bargain and it'll never dip below $3 again.

Funny how a couple years ago, the cost of a barrel of oil hit $115 yet our cost was under $3 a gallon. Today it's just under $100 and we're creeping closer to $4. Seems like a convenient way for oil companies to recoup money from the BP oil spill.

It's all traded on a futures market. Not that Exxon has a problem with that... It's just too complicated to boil down to a simple formula.
