Anybody been there? Walker Rd and RT 83 Avon Lake.

If so were you a bit disappointed or at least underwhelmed with the bar itself? IMO it has little to no character, too out in the open among the restaurant area, little privacy. I guess I expected him to over do it seeing as how successful he has been with the restaurants.

Food was fantastic, had macaroni and cheese, which is insulting to call it that (reads that way on the menu though) rigatoni with a light cream sauce, some chicken and IIRC rosemary, outstanding. I assume the food is pretty much all the same at all his place?

Only one of his places that I haven't been to yet...

I've heard a 50/50 response on the atmosphere as well...

Mac N Cheese has been available @ Lolita's for years and nothing like you used to eat as a kid...

Heard the sausage board @ BS ia awesome as well...

Its a good restaurant. That "Symon" in the name though raises everyone's expectations.

The restuarant is a bit open, and doesn't have that "bar" type of cozyness. But the food has character - which is what should count. Where else are you going to get a burger on an english muffin with a fried egg on top?

A little on the pricey side though, but there again is that name "Symon".

Location bad? I know Avon/Avon Lake has really sprouted up in the last 7-10 years but it still seems kind of dead out that way sometimes.

closed at end of october i guess. symon cited competition and too many fu*kers going to chipotle on a daily basis. what is the count and what is the estimate for year end 2010?

Off top of my head 85, I really fell off the paqce I was on in mid summer, was on target for roughly 100+ by year end.

The location wasn't the greatest. the stript center is about 40 - 50% empty. Probably would have done better in some other locations. Damn shame too since the wife liked it.

Had to turn over such an insane amount of tables to make it work. Traffic just wasn't there. They will be looking to open more higher end stuff before they open more like these...
