Damn is right.

Part of me wonders if the recent long streak by the Heat caused the Magic FO to make this move sooner than they would have liked to?

Not sure what the hell they're doing here.

First of all, taking on the worst contract in sports is one thing, in that same guy you've got someone who has yet to prove himself post injury, and certainly doesn't have the championship make-up you would like.

Gortat and Pietrus really help them against the the two primary foes ILO. How many minutes did Dwight sit the last two years in the playoffs strictly because of fouls. And you're gonna have who in there for those minutes?

ILO, they really overvalued Turk here, not sure he's the same player.

The positive is they got rid of Mrs. Vince Carter, but I think they've created a few years of mess here.

I stopped questioning Otis Smith after the 2009 ECF. At worst he's re-arranging deck chairs here.

(The worst contract in sports still resides with the Atlanta Hawks.)

Well, at least I feel like I can really root for the Magic now. I don't think I'd ever have felt good pulling for Vince "Tin Man" Carter to get a ring.

We could argue which is worse, but why take either of them?

And I agree, at worst he's rearranging deck chairs, problem is I think at best he's rearranging deck chairs.

They're going to regret trading Gortat, I think. If nothing else, who is going to come off the bench when Dewey inevitably gets into early foul trouble in the playoffs?

It seems like SVG likes Brandon Bass with Dwight a lot better this year then he ever did Gortat, with Martin coming in only for a breather/foul trouble for Dwight. Why, only the moustache knows. Gortat/Dwight seemed like a good combination last year while Wince was sucking up the first 30 games of the season.
