My God ... the Khan/Maidana Fight

Sweet mother of Christ ... that was one of the best fights I've seen in a while. What a war. Maidana is a god damn warrior. Khan got what he wanted, and was able to persevere. Barely.

An outstanding fight between two incredibly entertaining fighters.

And yet only a preview for boring MMA...I'm not angry, just disappointed.

But yes one of the best fights for a long time.

Big ups to Khan for taking the fight, and surviving it. Huge step in his development. His hand speed is off the charts. And he's got Freddie Roach.

Sadly for Maidana, he's going to have a hard time getting fights. Who's gonna wanna get in the ring with that little Ball of Hate?

I caught only the last 4 rounds.

Watching that that only the decision looked to be crazy. But they did show some 1-8 highlights where Khan apparently dominated.

Trying to figure out how Khan survived the 10th. Not in a boxing way, just in an 'avoiding death' way.

Khan just tore him apart to start the fight. First two rounds was just a flurry of Khan combinations. Maidana not seeing any of em until his head was cracked backwards. Looked like it was gonna end early. Khan won 5 of the first 6 rounds.

I had it the same way ... Khan winning. Barely. The Maidana point deduction was BS, but he also shoulda got a point deduction for hitting behind the head repeatedly. Dude just lost his shit the last 4 rounds ... was just throwing bomb after bomb. Out of breaks, to start rounds when Khan tried to touch gloves, or into the back of Khans head. Just an insane finish. I was standing in front of my TV, like 4 feet away for the last 3 rounds.

Just an amazing fight.

And Jesus H am I glad I didn't cave and get the UFC PPV. Four good fights on last night. Darchinyan/Mares and Khan/Maidana will both be in the mix for fight of the year.
