TP...More Talking

Unread postby pup » Fri Dec 10, 2010 9:46 am

But the Ohio State quarterback didn't make the first or second teams in selections by the league's media or coaches, and he made it clear that he thinks he could do a better job than Heisman Trophy favorite Cam Newton of Auburn and the all-conference QBs - Dan Persa of Northwestern, Robinson and Scott Tolzien of Wisconsin - if he were running their offenses.

"I'll put it like this," Pryor told the newspaper. "You put me in any of their offenses - any of them - and I'd dominate. I'd dominate the nation. What those guys do, that's what they're supposed to do. You put me in any of their offenses, where I can run the ball and have a choice to throw, I would dominate college football."

whats wrong with what he said?

I think if you put him in a spread or put him in a time machine and stuck him in an option based offense, he probably would dominate.

he's really hampered by being in the pro-style TOSU runs.

Shouldn't he have thought about that before committing to Ohio State?

Lot of things wrong with what he said, first is implies JT, his coach, is an idiot. Second like JJ said, maybe TP should remember what he was quite adamant about when deciding to come here, the chance to become a QB that can pass and not just run, which is why JT quickly enrolled him into the Fine Arts acting program.

I've been one of TP's staunchest defenders around here, but it's really time for the kid to put down the Twitter feed, dodge the reporters, and lay low for a while. Someone should whisper in his ear how transparent the Newton-envy and the Denard-envy are, and how small this all makes him look. He's not half the runner those guys are, which makes his whining about how great he would be in a different system all the more lame.

The thing is, he's right. The other thing is, he knows that this offense is better for him, and he knows that the results (him being 30-4) are the most important things, as he said later in the same interview.

Well, if he is right, then stop handing the ball off every time we do run the zone read.

This offense might be better for him to make a run at the pro game, but as NFL guys get better at evaluating the spread type QB's it will become less significant.

And the worst part of the entire quote is when he says he is 30-4. They are 30-4 and you are the god damn quarterback. Leave the word "I" for the huddle, when we all would be better off if that was the formation used more often.

Rack pup ^. That is all you need to hear from the kid to know what is deep in his heart, and as a fan of the program and a supporter of his while here, that is disheartening.

Have you guys seen Terrell Pryor thrown the ball?

Have you guys seen Cam Newton throw the ball?

He is not close to being right.
