Best matchup so far is South Carolina-Florida St. in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on December 31.

For the Big 10, Michigan v. Mississippi St in the Gator Bowl; Penn State v. Florida in the Outback Bowl; Nortwestern v. Texas Tech in the TicketCity Bowl; Illinois v. Baylor in the Texas Bowl.

The other games should be released closer to the 9 pm ESPN show.

Heard on Twitter today that Iowa/Nebraska is gonna be a matchup as well ... like that one. Little preview of what will be a middle America conference game next year. A lot of corn fed white boys in that game.

Hate this matchup. Buckeyes have trouble getting pressure on opposing QBs and the secondary's the weakest part of the defense. I think we can score on them, but I don't know how much we'll need to score.

Michigan State-Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.

And, for Bayou, LSU-Texas A&M in the Cotton.

I'm very frustrated with the auburn-oregon nat'l championship matchup

I saw Oregon got their asses beat on new years day against TOSU and TP had a career game against them, and this was them WITH Masoli, Blount and TJ Ward.

I can't think of any reason - LSU is the much better team, the Aggie OL is full of true freshman and the Ags haven't won a bowl game in forever.

Knile Davis picked it up in the second half of the year and they were able to throw with lots of success with more balanced play calling. I have no faith in our secondary. Arkansas's defense is not good, I'll say that.

If Tressel's going to sit back in zone, we'll get picked apart. We haven't gotten a consistent pass rush in any game this year that I can remember and that scares me.

We'll see. I'd rather play an LSU or Bama than a spread-pass offense like Arkansas.

Love this game on the field, Ark is pfft, they can do all the special bio segments on Mallet that they want, it doesn't change a thing.

Hate this match up off the field, lose lose IMO for OSU.

Of the three you mentioned, I have watched Arkansas the most (4 games)and I would chose them to play given the choice.

Mallett has a hell of an arm, but still gets flustered and has the maneuverability of a Jake Delhomme. Against Bama, he was 25/38 for 357 yards, but threw 1 TD and 3 picks. He got knocked out of the Auburn game, and then the backup came in and threw all over the field. Against LSU, he was 13 of 23 for 320 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs- two of those TDs on long passes/busted coverages. These are the three best d-lines he faced all year, and they can be comparable to the front 4 of tOSU in terms of QB pressure (not necessarily sacks, but pressure).

The OSU D is 4th nationally in pass defense, allowing 156 ypg. They're also #2 nationally in total defense, as well #10 in the nation for interceptions on the season with 18. Arkansas is #3 in total passing offense. Going to be an interesting matchup, but I'm pretty sure that the D-line gets pressure on Mallett, and that the receivers are well covered up top by Hines and Johnson to not allow the big plays.

Nominee for worst bowl matchup: Nebraska vs Washington. A rematch from a game AT WASHINGTON earlier this year where the Huskers won by 35 points and the game wasn't even as close as the score would indicate. Because the Holiday Bowl has to take a Pac-10 team, it was slim pickins due to USC's probation and two schools making the BCS. Holiday Bowl had to choose between Washington and Arizona. So their choice was a rematch from last year's Holiday Bowl where NU stomped 'Zona 33-0 or a rematch from this year where NU mauled Washington 56-21.

Lose-lose.
