The Official OSU vs. IOWA game thread

Unread postby furls » Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:19 am

USS Miami's schedule has changed (to my benefit) and I will be home for Turkey day and the rest of the OSU regular season!

Let's hope the Bucks show up for both halves of this game and put a freaking hurtin on the Hawkeyes, my third least favorite team in the B10. Iowa is going to be a tough team to run on, but I think the Bucks get it done today on a couple of Stanzi TOs, Bucks win 27-20.

Iowa Senior Day + Ricky Boy finally getting his shot at the Buckeyes + The concern that Pryor's comments this week mean we are going to come out throwing instead of what we do best.....

Call me concerned.

I think the Bucks are going to run and pass. I think Pryor is excited over a hurry up scheme. Clayborn and CO. were not impressive against the uptempo attack against the Wildcats. There is NO depth behind the front 4, so I think that is what Pryor is excited about.

Worst LB crew ever, including isaman & sullivans.

This team is so flawed & overrated.

OL is a joke , too. So hyped, so mediocre

Can't wait for Pryor to go away . Wisconsin is more Ohio than osu.

2nd half predictions??

--We can't feel as bad after the first half as we did last week. Down 4 with the ball coming
--There is no way the officiating will be that bad in the 2nd half. They got together and f-u Ferentz we gave you every break we could and you manage 7 points?
--More running the ball
--Defense keeps getting stronger

Bitching about our guys and the refs aside I give Stanzi credit for eluding some pressure.

This D is so uninspiring. I'm not suggesting they are not good, they are, they do not give up points, but they lack a lot of heart and seem to need to much of a kick in the pants to get down and dirty and play.

Give credit to Iowa, calling tons of great plays.

Nah. He's been a good QB. Glad to hear he's coming back.
People in general have misremembered a certain Vince Young's career in regards to just how similar (to the point of being exact) VY and TP are as players and their production. TP is good, struggles to be great no doubt, numbers don't allow the truth to be hidden on this matter.

OSU needs him back next year, what else they got?

Front four has gotten next to no pressure and the LBs keep dropping back in zone. I'd like to see OSU draw up a good corner blitz or something.

Problem wiht corner blitz it's kind of slow developing and Stanzi isn't sitting in the pocket long. A lot of quick hit passes. In fact Stanzi's done a nice job picking apart the area of the field blitzing.

To the contrary I did a mind meld to the DC and told him play it straight up which was working out well until Hines went looking for the big hit instead of keeping an eye on the ball. My feeling is keep 2-3 LBs in coverage so the dump passes go for 2-3 yards.

Plenty of time left, but you can just feel the sense of nothingness on the Buckeye sideline, as if they know they probably won't get it done, and even if they do for what? I've sensed all season that since a NC was rightfully made the goal anything less would be so disappointing they could fall apart at any moment once they were out of the hunt.

Seems to be happening for the past 8 days.

That's what happens when the refs allow the db to abuse a freshman WR, he gets alligator arms. I would have been worried about reaching to catch that one, too. Who's gonna protect him?

I know, but the dude practically had his head ripped off the last time he reached for a ball downfield. He's a freshman, if he's any good he'll get over it.
