Indiana vs. OSU game thread

My two schools (I am going to be entering the MBA program at Kelly [IU school of business] fall of '11).

I am hoping for a dominating performance by the Buckeyes in which the defense is able to hold the IU passing attack to "just" 200 yards. Realistically, I think the IU passing attack give the Bucks some headaches today, not enough to keep the game close, but enough to make the fans and media upset. People just are not going to concede that that this IU team is actually pretty good on the offensive side of the ball until they make a bowl game at the end of the year.

That said, I think the running game gets healthy, Brandon Saine's role reduced (futher) as a ball carrier and we will see a return to the Buckeye's 25-30 throws today. I like the Bucks to win 45-24. Pryor 21-27 for 225 (3 TDs), 7 carries for 75 (0 TDs). Boom 20 carries for 120. Jordan Hall 3 receptions 35 yards, 7 carries for 50.

Defensive star(s) today: Devon Torrence and Jermale Hines.

Personally I am scared for this D until they put a serious lock down on a legit offense, I consider the Indiana offense good enough to be the grade for our D if our D locks them up. I see this game as a bit closer than you Furls, but a win with no questions as the game closes out.

Until I see domination from our running game like last season's end of year run and a dominating game from our D I am nervous we don't get out of the Big Ten unscathed, wasn't worried two weeks ago.

I was really surprised on the 2nd play of the game to see the linebacker on a blitz come in and knock Boren back about 4 yards onto his backside. It was number 53 I realize he had a head of steam but still that was impressive. (I mean the fullback Boren not the Guard)

It is. But typically you only get those matchups by utilizing at the RB position. And, unfortunately, they often hand him the ball.

How bad must that defense be? I knew they were bad, but scUM actually had me convinced that this IU team would move the ball today. Opening the scUM/MSU thread right now.

I think we may actually see open tryout's for 1st/2nd string RB in the second half. Gotta like Boom to win the #1, but this is Hall's shot to really take some carries.

OSU is kind of in a conundrum RE: Running game......teams continue to stack the box and sell out vs the run....which dictates more and more passing, even in a game like today where we are 2-1 already....but we have to practice the run in game situations to get better, which creates some damn ugly plays where we fail miserably vs 7,8 and even 9 men fronts at times....

Well that's what I'm saying about a conundrum....they are probably just saying, ok, we can pass, lets try to get tougher in the run game see if we can beat some stacked fronts....which obviously we are not succeeding to much against.

But I'm good with us trying to figure it out, I think this team struggles a bit in getting nasty on runs after alot of passing...they need to learn to flip that switch play to play, right now they can't but there is still alot of season in front of us...

But the Pass pro is so far ahead of the rushing blocking right now...but its not like these guys can't do it, they did a fine job last season against MUCH MUCH better defenses, that's the confusing thing about this.....

Boren has not really been great the last couple of weeks. Coming into the season Boren was the All Big Ten pick, but I really think Bryant Browning has outplayed him all year (and they ask Browning to do a lot more).

Make no mistake about it, the Bucks have to win impressively every week, because Oregon is going to annihilate all those patsies in the Pac 10 and put all time greatest numbers for offense (every one will completely ignore that they give 30+ points to every decent team they play.
