The Obamination continues...Two years of total control and nothing to show for it but historical fail.

There is no Democratic message. President Obama is heralding education — an issue never mentioned on the campaign trail. Secretary of State Clinton is trying to restart the peace talks in the Middle East. Attorney General Holder is re-evaluating online national-security taps. And a hundred Democrats are scrambling about on their own trying to get reelected!

The Democratic campaigns they are waging are formulaic. They make no attempt to defend the administration, but run away from it where possible. They never mention the words stimulus, healthcare reform, card-check, GM takeover or cap-and-trade.

Instead, they are running almost exclusively negative ads. They base their campaigns on tax liens, failed marriages, DWIs and the like. Where there is a paucity of dirt, they resort to three prefab negatives: that their opponent favors a 23 percent national sales tax, that he wants to privatize Social Security and that he is shipping jobs overseas.

Actually, those weren’t Boehner’s words. They were uttered by Herbert Hoover’s treasury secretary, millionaire industrialist Andrew Mellon, after the Great Crash of 1929.

But they might as well have been Boehner’s because Hoover’s and Mellon’s means of purging the rottenness was by doing exactly what Boehner and his colleagues are now calling for: shrink government, cut the federal deficit, reduce the national debt, and balance the budget...

It should be added that Mellon survived about 5 economic collapses in industrial and speculative Pittsburgh, and with Harding helped bring the nation out of the steepest deflationary recession in ever in about 18 months.

I can't see how it was surprising that the Democrats only took over because of the Republican failures, and managed to do even worse than their predecessors. It's not unexpected to predict that not only will the Republicans take back both houses of Congress, but do well in running them, probably well enough to make Obama a one-termer. Then, within two years of the next Republican presidency, the GOP will start fucking it all up again.
