Rate Your Fantasy Team

Unread postby jack_tors » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:24 am

I found this enjoyable last year so I opened another thread for this year. Enter your fantasy team and hopefully a few folks will chime in with an opinion.

I will kick it off. Just finished my draft last night and here is one of my teams. 10 man head to head league. Different set up that most leagues I have been in due to roster size. Up to 7 RB and 10 WR can be taken. Took some guys (Slaton, Bush) cause they hung around so late.

Solid, yet unspectacular team^^^, looks good enough to make your post-season...If Mendy and/or Greene live up to expectations this year then you have an even better one...

My first league: 12 Team H2H, PPR

QB- Rodgers
RB- SJax
RB- Charles
WR- Welker
WR- Hicks
WR/TE- Gates
K- Tynes
D- SF

Bench- RBush, Hightower, Sproles, Slaton, Maclin, Gaffney

Have my auction draft league tomorrow

Don't know the scoring of your league, Jack. I'm always afraid of Jackson in my league cuz yardage isn't emphasized as much as TDs. So he loses value. He was the #17 RB in my league last year, #15 the year before, #11 before that. It always takes a first-round pick to get him, so no value there.

Mendenhall should be good. Don't think there's anyone there to take away carries. Shonn Greene, depends where you got him. He could lose goal-line carries to LT.

Love Schaub. Your WR/TEs need work.

Wabo, you might be in trouble with your RBs. Charles is looking like a time share. WRs dependent upon Welker's health.

Here's mine. TEs get lumped in w/WRs:

QB Palmer
RB Gore
RB Grant
WR Smith
WR Smith
WR Austin
K Vinatieri
DEF Dolphins

Key backups = Maroney, Forsett, Jacoby Jones, Royal, Garcon, Sidney Rice, Hasselbeck

I need help at QB and am thin at RB.

I drafted a 16 teamer, .4 pts for each pass yard, .1 for each rush yard, .11 for each receiving yard.

I had 9th pick.

QB Romo
WR A. Johnson
WR Driver
WR Manningham
RB Wells
RB Harrison
TE Shiancoe
W/R Julius Jones
K Bironas
D/ST SF
BN Cribbs
BN R. Jennings
BN T. Edwards
BN J. Morgan
BN BUF

Some of the rationale, I was just about to take Kareem Huggins when he was picked right before me. So I wound up having to take Jennings in case MJD goes down. I know my RB are horrible. After I took AJ, my decision was to take a decent QB or a decent RB. With the .4 pass yards, I figured QB would make a lot more sense.

I had Hasselbeck lined up because he gets STL on Romo's bye, but he got taken. So, I was going to take Sanchez and he went. So I wound up with Edwards who gets NYJ in Week 4, so that'll be pointless. But BUF gets OAK on SF's bye, so that one should work out.

It was my first league with over 12 teams, so I definitely had a tough time with the draft and with so many teams going RB by committee, it was hard to pick up RBs late.

I've got three other leagues, but this was the most interesting.

.4 pts for each pass yard

Guessing that's supposed to be .04 since a 350 yd day with no TD's would give you 140 points.

I've got 2 drafts coming up next week, will post the results after they're done.

Yes, thanks.

Which makes it standard because 25 yards = 1 point. Good thing I paid attention to that when drafting.

Either way, 4 divisions of 4. Seems like it'll be a tough league.

TCF League, draft was earlier tonight

QB Schaub
RB M. Turner
RB Mendenhall
RB/WR Portis
WR G. Jennings
WR S. Smith (NYG)
TE Z. Miller
DEF Broncos
K Akers

Bench
D. Bowe
M. Barber
B. Berrian
D. Brown
M. Lynch
V. Young
A. Collie
L. Washington

Had the 6th pick and went with Turner ahead of Gore and both Brees and Rodgers. Thought there was a chance Rodgers would still be there with my second but both of them went in round 1. I've got 2 strong RB's and an entire stable to back them up. A couple strong WR and a very strong QB and I'm pretty happy with my team.

I really like that team and the strategy. Passing on Rodgers worked out with you grabbing Schaub. Depth at both WR and RB, I really like it.

Pick 7 in a 12 team league. Bunch of minor mods, but only notable one is PPR.

QB: Eli Manning
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Calvin Johnson
RB: Jamaal Charles
RB: Knowshon Moreno
W/T: Antonio Gates
W/R/T: Felix Jones
Bench: Housh, Santonio, McNabb, Slaton, Heath Miller
D: Cincy, Miami

Pick 3, 12 teams, standard Yahoo.
QB: Eli Manning
WR: Miles Austin
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Donald Driver
RB: Maurice Jones-Drew
RB: Felix Jones
TE: Vernon Davis
Bench: Forte, Michael Bush, Santonio, Massaquoi, Donald Brown, Slaton
D: Dallas

Not too thrilled with either of these teams, but not terrible.

I think you've got good RB/WR/TE's for both teams, though team 2 is probably light on RB's with guaranteed carries. Obviously you're season(s) ride on Eli Manning and, in my opinion, that's never a good thing. I've never been an Eli fan and would probably go with McNabb for your first team, but that's just me. Eli's too inconsistent and has the ability to completely murder your team with turnovers.

This is my 2nd team, it's for a free league with some friends. The league has pretty basic scoring and the only change is that there's only 1 RB slot instead of 2 so its QB RB RB/WR WR WR TE D K. I had the 10th pick in a 16 team league.

QB - Rivers
RB - M. Turner (again, didn't want to take him but couldn't pass him up with the 10th pick)
RB/WR - J. Harrison
WR - M. Austin
WR - Welker
TE - Miller
D - Giants
K - Sea Bass (Janikowski)

Bench
A. Bradshaw
D. Brown
L. Naanee
S. Rice
J. Delhomme
and just picked up Rob Gronkowski TE Patriots and Mike Thomas WR Jaguars

I'm pretty happy with this team too. Really glad I got one of the stud QB's which is a big advantage in a 16-team league. Also 1 stud RB and WR with good depth at both positions.
