I think he's shown more than he's been given credit for.
Here is a post from another board with some stats that will surprise some, I get the feeling that if he had a more traditional smoother delivery with the same results people would feel a lot different (obviously the 12th and 13th games can skew historical placement):
Just to put things in perspective,in spite of all his faults, weaknesses and shortcomings, here is where he stands after 2 years:
Total Offense/game-career: #1 Terrelle Pryor 185.2 y/g. Followed by Schlichter, Germaine, Smith and Hoying.
Total Offense-Season: 4th place.
Total Offense-Game:5th, 9th and 11th place.
Total Offense/Game-Season: 4th place.
Touchdowns Responsible For-Season: 4th place.
Touchdowns Responsible For-Career: 8th place.
200 yd games-Season: 3rd place.
200 yd games-Career: 8th place.
300 yd games-Season: 3rd place.
300 yd games-Career: 4th place.
Total Offense-Career: 11th place. If he gets 3000 yds Total Offense this season, which, barring injury is very reasonable, he will move into 2nd place behind Schlichter.
Passing:
Yards - Season: 13th place.
Yards - Career: 10th place.
Completion Pct. - Season: 7th place.
Completion Pct. - Career: 4th place.
Yards/Game - Career: 7th place.
"I won’t tell you exactly what it’s about, but this is typical of what might happen,'' he said. "I said, ‘Tom, do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘I don’t think I do. I think it’s too much or too strong or whatever.’ I said, ‘well, we might have to.’ And he goes, ‘well, if we have to, then you’ve got to tell me, because I won’t do it.’ And I said, ‘OK, then I might have to tell you. Fine.'''
