OSU Jersey Scrimmage: Talkin' X's and O's...

This was the entry for the Jersey scrimmage from the site I've posted about earlier last week.....

http://buckeyefootballanalysis.blogspot.com/2010/08/osu-jersey-scrimmage-talkin-xs-and-os.html

I would post "highlights" but it just isn't the type of article for that....the analysis on this site isn't built to be condensed into a couple quick hitters. It's pretty in depth, to the point that some will love it and continue to visit, and some will not care to know the details and can save themselves the time of clicking on future links.
"I won’t tell you exactly what it’s about, but this is typical of what might happen,'' he said. "I said, ‘Tom, do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘I don’t think I do. I think it’s too much or too strong or whatever.’ I said, ‘well, we might have to.’ And he goes, ‘well, if we have to, then you’ve got to tell me, because I won’t do it.’ And I said, ‘OK, then I might have to tell you. Fine.'''

I really like that site. Thanks again. If you really want to try to get a feel for the "teamwork" of football this site is great. Some folks are content to follow the ball their whole lives. I LOVE watching the play develop in all aspects. From the snap to the tackle I like to watch guards pull, the coverage scheme, watching the QBs head as he checks down his progression, right down to the point where he pulls the ball in and starts to run. Then I love to see what kind of effort the WRs are puttin in downfield to make the blocks and what kind of effort the DTs are making in backside pursuit. The details are where you learn about the game and the strength of your team, the only thing the ball is good for is scoring points and that is ancillary to the details that I just brought up.
Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

The blogger is a regular poster at the Scout forum of late, and I've already learned a lot of football from just reading his posts there...in addition to the great stuff on the blog. His name is Ross Fulton.
