No joke - I heard the worst song of all time

Unread postby jb » Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:14 pm

Had a long drive casue I'm in hate with regional airlines this summer. But that's a NHB'd take.

So anywy, I flip around everything on the Sirius and Billy Joel's daughter is trying a music caree.

She has this joint called, "Notice Me" and I'll be damned if it isn't the Platoniclly perfect most shittiest pop song every. So bad, you absolutely have to hear it. It makes you actually almost have apreciation for taylor Swift.

It's like she rips off one of his most annoying crappy ditties "Don't ask me why" and overlays the acoustic riff from George Michale's "Faith". Then she has these inane trying to be cleavor lyrics all about being like some stupid 15 year old with a crush in highschool, an dto top it off she has a voive LITERALLY like as if she's one of the female chipmunks in the last Chipmunks' movie.

It is so bad, it is a work of art. It could not be worse. Yo just gota lsten like as if you smell the spoiled milk again.

I am calling the police and pressing charges against JB for ear and mind rape.

Unreal, its so bad, a description wouldnt do it justice. The fucked up thing is that it will probably become a hit.

Billy Joel is a talentless fuck so its no wonder an offspring with half his genes is 100 times worse.

Dude can play the piano for sure, and write some okay songs. Not a big fan, but I like that "Pressure" song, mainly because I found it really amusing Mangini played in two-minute drill in TC last year.

I love a good pianist any time.
I really enjoyed Elton John in the 70s.
And also did enjoy BJoel as well.

I think that song is written specifically for Billy, who was always too busy being in a booze-induced coma on his motorcycle to notice her.

HA, HA!!!

Yes my musical inclinations are better read silently than aloud!!! HA!!

Reminds me of a time when my uncle was in town from out of state and I was in college. He was telling us all a bunch of boring stories around the dinner table (a bunch of folks covering three generations). He starts to tell us all about this guy and kept telling us what a great pianist he was, over and over. I was, like, shocked. I swore he kept telling us all what a great penis he was. And no one else looked shocked. I was thinking, "does everyone else think nothing of this and think that calling some guy a penis around the dinner table in mixed company is ok?"

Ha!

EDIT EARLIER COMMENT:
I enjoy listening to a well-played piano and wish I could just sit down and pound out "Bennie and the Jets" any time I wanted to.

Dang. I accidentally started this thread down a different path.
Well, seeing that Billy Joel spent time with Christie Brinkley, you can't say that about him.

Billy Joel is alright, talented tickling the ivory, but make no mistake about it he couldn't wear Elton John's jock strap.

Elton John might be one of the best musicians in the last 100 years.

Agreed. I was devastated when he and Bernie Taupin split. Elton's career still stayed quite successful, but post-Taupin Elton was never the same, in MHO. The stuff Taupin wrote for EJ was unbelievable.

"Trouble" by Lindsey Buckingham. Yes, Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac fame. Worst, song, ever. Look it up on youtube and prepare to be silenced.

This is definitely in the conversation for worst song ever:

Most annoying song ever, this gets a nod:

Dis-honorable mention

OK, maybe more comedy relief than anything...

The problem with you all is that you are all into subjectivity -- again.

You miss it. It is the criteria of what is objectively aweful and how a POS achieves the meeting of the objective criteria.

Alexa Rae's ditty has not one redeeming quality and is Platonically aweful.

Stolin riff ruined? Check.

Voice like Tiny Tim (that's goin back) ? Check.

Horrible lyrics that are made worse becasue she actually TRIED to write something original of some quality? Check.

It is pathetic because she thinks it's good and she can perform. Just watch her.

I can go on and on. OTOH:

Vinny barbarino was making money and being exploited in the era of Shawn Cassidy, Leif Garrett and similar flavs of the month, not trying to be an "artist". I think even Willie Ames might have cut a "45".

Boy Georoge had talent. May be fruity and not you cup of tea, but he, she, whatever could at least sing.

And FUDU. The Butthole Surfers are up there with the Dead Milkmen and Camper Van Beethovin as one of the seminal punk/smart ass groups of that era. You miss the joke.

And Spin, you're just out to lunch dissing the Proclamers. You may not like 80's - 90's UK power pop as a genre, but that doesn't make this the worst song ever.

Again, play this POS and listen to her. And GD it if this doesn't worm into your brain and stay, giving it an even more annoying quality.

And I expect it to get rotation on top 40 because of who she is, making it even more insideous.

So JB,

In the past month you have stood up for Boy George, Aaron Goldhammer, and Kent State. Just come out of the closet, man. It's oh so obvious...

No way, Pepper rules.. Great song

Agree on meatloaf. Dude was annoying as a singer, even more so as an actor.

No one speaks ill of Meatloaf on my watch. There's a big difference between "cheesy" and "bad".

Bad is anything by Vanilla Ice. Oh, and that David Soul song was pretty bad too. It reminded me of the station my mom used to listen to in the car in the 70's, rolling around town in that Gremlin, along with other hits such as:

It's only progress if you eventually get somewhere.

I think JB's nailed it. You're all just debating second place here.

Miss Joel has, beyond any doubt, put out the worst song I have ever heard...and clinching the title is that this isn't a novelty song, or a bad TV actor cashing in on his 15 minutes of fame.

She really does think that she since was born on third she hit a triple.

Epic Suck.
