This is a very fun pool. A lot of fun, excitement, and smack talk for 30 bucks. We run three phases each season. Each last about 50 days with a couple week break between phases.

Here are the winners from the last two plus years:

OFFICIAL RULES

Phase II will last 50 days. Starts on Monday, August 9, 2010. Last day of selections will be Monday, September 27 2010.

Pick one baseball team each night to simply win their game. You cannot pick the same team twice. And you have to select all 30 teams in baseball one time.

Contest lasts for 50 days. So seeing as how you need to pick every team in baseball one time and one time only, there will be 20 days you don't pick a game. Use those PASS days wisely when there is no strong selection amonst the teams you have left to use. All picks must be time stamped, in this thread, no later than the official start time of the game per MLB.com or else the pick is thrown out. While you don't have to post your picks until the start time of the game you are selecting (example: can post a pick for a 10:05 PM EST game at 10:01) ... you cannot change a posted pick once the days first game is underway. If your team is rained out, you get a PASS for that day and have to select that team for another game in the future.

The winner is the person with the most total wins after the Monday, September 27 games end. Winning % means nothing. Most total wins. If two people are tied at the end, and one is 22-8, and another is 22-7 (say due to a day #50 rainout) ... that is still a tie. Only category that means anything is total wins.

If everyone makes all their picks, each entrant will have picked exactly 30 games, each team in baseball one time, over a 49 day period. $30 per player, winner take all.

The tiebreaker, once we get there, and if we need it ... will be to pick the winners of every baseball game on the last day of the contest, Monday, September 27. And note - Sept 27 is both the final day of the contest, AND the tiebreaker day. Any competitors who could potentially be involved in a tie will have to pick the winners of all 13 games that day. And also identify their final Pick 30 selection, if they still have one pick left to make. The second tiebreaker, if needed, is total runs scored by all the teams you selected to win in the final day tiebreaker. Third tiebreaker would be run differential.

10 of the 20 players made selections on opening day of Phase III. The Angels were the trendy pick last night and the over rated Fuentes made things interesting. The Royals put their first two men on in the 9th, only to leave both runners stranded in scoring position. No doubt the Royals will provide many players numerous wins. In other action the Giants rallied for their win and the White Sox go down to the streaking Orioles, who are 6-1 under Showalter.

11-6 day for the field. Highlights - Seattle finally scored for King Felix after 18 innings of no offense. The Angels delivered a win in a game that lacked any kind of energy. The Orioles continued their recent run with a bashing of the Tribe. The Pirates lose again.....they have now lost 29 of their last 33 on the road. Lincecum and the Giants go down in flames against a depleted Cubs lineup.
