I could have sworn Mo was as responsible for just as many wins in that series as LeBron.

Just putting both sides out there. Mo has heard plenty the past 2 post seasons about not showing up when asked. I believe it's a gloves are off response as he defended Gilbert after The Decision was made.
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB

Which game was the bad one, Game 2 or Game 5??

I also could have sworn that I saw LeBron refusing to foul as time ran out on the season, down by only single digits.

Still nice to see Mo snap back on a tweet no matter how truthful or whether or not Kobe had help that Bron didn't.

Damn!!

There it is. Start to finish.

Developed a whole new respect for Woj these last 3-4 months. Best in the biz for my $$$.

That should go into textbooks for future generations to read about and learn from.

Yep.

It's like the effin steroids in baseball thing. All the warning signs were there. Right out there in front of all of us. I was watching the 2000 Home Run Derby on MLB Network at some point this week, and sitting there watching it, I was literally laughing out loud and talking to myself about how I couldn't have pegged what was going on in baseball at the time with the steroids.

This is the same thing.

I feel embarrassed. I also feel a little relieved this asshole no longer wears Cleveland across his chest. I'm all about cheering for the uniform and lord knows we all pull hard for guys that are just horrible human beings that do heinous things ... but Jesus H ... with this asshole LeBron? If I'm living and dying over whether pricks like this stay or leave Cleveland ... it may be time to start developing some other hobbies.

F Lebron, I hope he is never able to win it all, but there is no similarity in supporting casts if that's what Mo is getting at. If Lebron puts up Kobe's game 7 numbers the Cavs lose - and he's still LeChoke, can't get it done etc. Instead an incredibly selfish in his own right and rapist is now on the national fellate list.

Hence the reason, outside of Cleveland, if Lebron IS able to get it done, outside of Cleveland, he'll reagin just about all the steam he lost.

He traded being loved for being hated, but again, if he does wonderful things with a basketball he'll be fine. The same fuckwads that put him on a high horse will get him back on.

I've been clubbed with the apathy stick, Swerb. The only reason I had a reaction to Lebron was because of the circus itself - the fact I'd never seen anything like it. The fact he left, the fact he lied about why, when and how - none of that shit - NONE suprised me in the least bit. There have been much, much better guys that have turned into reprehensible figure in my lifetime, nothing from anybody would suprise me.

When Barry Bonds popped on the cover of ESPN the magazine in a close-up that showed his wrists larger than his biceps when he broke into the league...apathy. McGwire in the press conferences sleeveless... Never really stopped to think about it because if ya did.....

And in 2010 in sports, just as in politics, you're going to find out everything. The Kennedy's could circle jerk Monroe, but Clinton can't even get a hummer from a chubby intern? From the time Jim Brown first flung his chick off a balcony till say, 1990 or so, so much shit was going on with these enabled cats....now it seems like there are infintely more assholes, but really, it's been going on for years.

"Hey, guess what ______ just shot two of his teammates." Fill in any name and my response would be borrowed from Peeker. "Pass the beer nuts.

LP is neither tied to, nor influenced by any of these guys. Just cover the number and keep your forearms away from him.

^Agree, apathy has set in, and as Hiko said it is all about the cloth. Last time I truly went nuts over an individual was when the Cavaliers won the lottery. Last team event, Browns beating the Stoolers.

I hate to even admit, but I had more emotion for Landon Donovan's goal against Algeria then just about anything the Cavaliers did this season. Mere years ago I would spit on soccer and its players. Don't follow it closely enough to know what kind of assholes they are, and was purely pulling for the cloth (as Hiko says) and country.

May be part of the reason why it feels like a cold shower this rebuild/reload, new guys I won't know about, a clean slate. I'll be at more games now then at any time during the LBJ era. Ass backwards...

The truth starts to come out that LeQuit has been an A-#1 asshole since he's come into the league. No wonder he didn't get any quality playing time during the 2004 Olympics -- Larry Brown probably couldn't stomach him.

As for the articles posted above, it's amazing how clearly we see things now... considering how flat out wrong our collective opinions were 1-3 years ago.

Meh. I'm always suspicious of any trove of information that was supposedly known ahead of time, but only comes out after the fact. In my mind, Woj was simply covering his ass, saying "see Cleveland, I told you all along that he was gone" ... when in fact he was throwing darts at a board the whole time ("Bron's going to Chicago ... Detroit ... Portland ... the Clippers ... New York ... New Jersey ... Miami ... Miami! See, I told you so!"). And notice how carefully he preserves the reputation of WWWes (gotta protect those sources!).

Believe this word for word as the unbiased truth if you want. But after being gullible for seven years in thinking that Bron would spend his career in Cleveland, maybe we shouldn't be so quick to latch unquestioningly on this guy.

Wes got off LBJ's plane when they landed in Miami holding hands and laughing w/ him and laughing. Your theory that Wes was spurned by LBJ and Woj lost his source was, well, wrong. Wes was along for the whole ride, just wasn't front and center.

And no clue if all of this is true, but if you've been reading and listening to Windy it all jives, all the way down to Windy saying point blank he now believes Cleveland wasn't even in LBJ's top two on NBATV.

No wonder Gilbert is furious. Several years of kowtowing to LeBron and his posse on a daily basis and now it turns out he never had a chance. The game was rigged from the beginning and LeBron never told him. How humiliating.

You have to hand it to Riley. He was willing to puts all his chips on the table and bet on one hand, knowing if he didn't draw the inside straight he was busted. But he did, and he won the biggest pot of all time. At least it looks that way.

FWIW: Windhorst also has stated that he didn't think the Cavs winning the title would have put them in the top two and is the one that broke that James didn't answer a single phone call or text from Game 6 in Boston till forever....

I know the "Decision" questions were set up softballs and all, but good holy Christ, the one question that HAD to be asked, a follow up question really, to Lebron claiming "He woke up this morning at talked to his mama" blah blah... WHAT F'ING TEAM DID YOU CHOOSE MIAMI OVER??? The guy's just expressing what a "pained" choice it was -a choice between Miami and who? And we here in Cleveland might assume a whole hell of a lot differently than Joe in Idaho.

I'm reading Bill Simmons' "The Book of Basketball" and he mentions that current players don't engage in acrimonious rivalries like they did in the 20th century. A lot of the superstars back then were intensely competitive and disliked if not hated each other. Think Wilt/Russell, for example. Larry Bird was the King of the Trash Talkers and didn't care for any of his opponents.

Times have changed. Simmons has a chapter on which players were screwed on the MVP voting because of politics or because they weren't liked by players around the league, and he adds this:

"Actually, with the way the NBA works now - players from different age groups bonding by coming through the ranks at the same time, and, in some cases, knowing each other since AAU ball - it's not far-fetched to think that there'd be more politicking now. The whole Bron-Melo-CP generation loves each other."

He could have included Wade and Bosh in with that group.

It's a different mentality with this generation. You never saw the Celtics and Pistons hugging each other before the tipoff. The biggest issue with LeBron leaving IMO was not money or the lifestyle difference. If Bosh and Wade agreed to come to Cleveland and the Cavs could have worked it out, LeBron would have been happy to stay.

The Decision was whether LeBron wanted to play against the best or with the best, and everything else is just noise.

Because LBJ would've stayed had Bosh wanted to come.

SD:

Don't believe the hype, dude threw Brown and the team under the bus, effectively quit against the Celtics , so his exit would be more plausible.

We were dead to him an the hole in the wall gang who had an agenda far beyond
what your seeing now.

Because the ham handed presentation ala the decision backfired revealing that he had essentially played everybody for suckers to garner more glory, instead of wisely continuing to play some concocted phony humble pie line he'd been shoveling
earned him National hate and surprised her in the condemnation of his queenliness and her handlers.

Otherwise we'd all still be lapping at the trough wanting to think he's still a good guy,had some senior memeber wrote the script for his departure.

None of the dumb shit would have come out , and nobody could have born false on the Witness.

Fuckin retard shit on the same ladder going up he'll have to use on his way back down.

Why should Bosh want to come to Cleveland when he could play with Wade and LBJ in Miami?

By the way, does anybody really believe that LeBron tanked against Boston so it would be easier for him to leave Cleveland? That makes no sense to me. If the Cavs had been NBA Champions last year, LeBron could say, "I gave this team seven years and took it from the worst team in the league to World Champions. The curse is broken and Cleveland finally has their Championship. My work here is done; mission accomplished. Now I move on to a new team and new challenges knowing I gave the fans in Cleveland what they've been wanting for the last 46 years. It would have been very difficult to leave without giving the fans a Championship, but now that they have it I don't owe them anything and I can now pursue my personal dream of playing with DWade and Chris."

Nobody in Cleveland would have been happy, but I think that story would have played better nationally than the way it's playing out now. If LeBron quit against Boston, I don't think it had anything to do with his free agency. YMMV.

Da Nile, ain't just a river in Egypt. If he quit? If? Did you not watch the game? Tanked is a strong word (purposefully threw the entire series) but he sure as hell said "Fuck it, I'm gone and the sooner the better." You assume that the Cavs come back against the Celts, then beat the Magic, then beat the Lakers. Wasn't going to happen. LeBron knew it - and the closer he got to a chmpionship without actually bringing the O'Brien trophy to Public Square the more outrage when he bolted. Better to go out in the semis like a gutless pussy as opposed to leaving it all out on the court and seeing what happens.

You probably think his elbow was really hurt too.

Prosecutor,

You assume much about LeBron's ability to do and say the right thing. His atrocious decision regarding "The Decision" clearly indicates that he would not have been savy enough to say something like that. After watching the Boston series I came to the conclusion that either the elbow injury was MUCH more serious than LBJ was letting on, or that he was gone and he knew it and just didn't care enough to put the effort into it. With my blinders still on, I thought it was the former. I thought LBJ was the kind of guy that wouldn't allow there to be any excuses, that he was committed to this team.

After learning more about this situation, I tend to think that he knew he was gone. If you read the comments he has since made about his teammates, his supporting cast and his own level of play (spoiling the fans with seven years of blah, blah). The picture becomes much more clear. He just didn't care enough to really try; whether he threw the games on purpose or not is something that only LBJ and his innermost circle will ever know, but I do know that his effort was nowhere near what it was when he single-handedly beat the Pissedons in the playoffs a several years ago. Paint it however you like, but it is what it is, less effort than was required to win.

Honestly, I think Bosh picked Miami more for the glitz and glam than for winning.

Because he could've won in Cleveland just as easily.

Here's what Dwyane Wade told FanHouse at a charity basketball event in Miami today, with emphasis ours:

"We're going to be wearing a bullseye,'' Wade said. "But that's what you play for. If we lose a couple in a row this season, it will be like the World Trade (Center) is coming down again. When the schedule comes out, people will be looking for the Lakers and Heat, to see when they play us. I feel like I'm a new player in Miami. That's how excited I am.''

Hold up dem, that quote was wrong.

Wade was wrongly quoted by the same fuck that led the Howard for NBA MVP bullshit last year.

Here is the real transcript, and my apologies for linking Tim of Orlando:

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/07/18/heat ... -expected/

My bad on giving Fanhouse the acceptance I usually do and not looking at the fuck that broke the story. Potvak is a joke.

That said, he (Wade) still had the audacity to mention it.

Every red-blooded American should despise the Heat anyway. So why not egg them on with comments like these? Hell, those three ought to come out for every game like Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Sheikh.

"We're going to be wearing a bullseye. But that's what you play for," Wade said. "We enjoy the bullseye. Plus, there's going to be times when we lose 2-3 games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games.

Not as bad but that topic is one that he shouldn't even be referencing anyway. That's in the "untouchable" category as far as athletes wanting to bring a point of reference to a sports conversation.

I agree, that wasn't the LeBron we saw against the Pistons. Did he have an elbow injury? According to the MRI, he had two. After everything that has come out, I agree that he knew he was leaving Cleveland. So why didn't he try to win it all and walk away victorious, having accomplished something truly exceptional? His elbow was killing him to the point that he shot a free throw left-handed against Chicago, and he didn't see any way he was going to be able to carry his team past Boston, Orlando, and LA with a bum elbow. So he quit. I think that's as plausible an explanation as any, but like you said, only LBJ and his circle will ever really know. It doesn't matter anyway. Time to move on. It's going to be tough watching Miami win 4-5 titles, though. And they will. Like DWade said, players from all over the league were calling to see if they fit in with the Heat. They pretty much got their pick of role players to choose from, starting with Z.

It took them three MRIs to find ANYTHING wrong with his elbow. LeBron wasn't injured. He was a little banged up, which everyone is at playoff time. Notice you never heard anything about the elbow again after the Cavaliers got eliminated? No surgery, no nothing? The "bum elbow" excuse is garbage.

So why didn't he try to win it all and walk away victorious, having accomplished something truly exceptional?

Because he would have gotten fucking killed in the national media for leaving a championship team and a potential dynasty to go play with his buddies in Miami. At least now he's only being killed for HOW he left. Otherwise people are buying right in to the "I didn't get enough help" rationalization. Falling short was the ONLY way he could make anything close to a clean break from Cleveland.

He KNEW he'd be a national laughing stock if he walked away from a championship team. He DIDN'T know he'd be a national laughing stock because of that stupid show. He flat-out tanked the Boston series and did it knowingl.

Look the LeBron was injured excuse is complete garbage, as stated by Herm most recently (for the 1500th time). Nothing in his shooting suggested he had an injury, he was not throwing up bricks, his shot wasn't unreasonably short on a consistent basis, all the things that would have shown up if he did in fact have an injury. The elbow might not be the most significant part of the mechanics of a shot but none the less he was physically as good as one is at that time of year. He mentally checked out long before the series and that helped him physically check out as well. The guy tanked, the quicker you get that through your head the quicker others in here will stop giving you shit.
