Two police officers are facing charges after an off-duty fracas outside a Massachusetts home ended with one officer using a Taser on the other.

The main lesson I see there is don't be black and call the police in the South. The secondary lesson I see is one I've believed for a long time: police departments aren't bothering to train their officers fully in the use of their available weapons, and way too many officers think that the taser is the first resort, instead of the last.

Too bad this particular story won't have a happy ending.
