We've been down this road before but I cannot help but state I don't support retiring Z's jersey. It is just too sad a statement about the franchise to retire the jersey of such a mediocre player. If it happens it happens but I just don't see the reason for a big push for it.

Z didn't give us a hometown discount in 2005 to sign another FA, he took us for all he could. Z didn't give back any money from his three hurt seasons out of his first 7. Z didn't resign during the dark years of the early 2000s, he got his long as deal in the late 90s and his second deal in the LBJ era.

Z was a basketball player the got paid a shit ton to play here and never did anything beyond that.

Now he can go sit on the bench in Miami for the duration of the playoffs and get a ring for it.

That's the thing, look who we are putting him up against, the Larry Nance's, Tyrone Hill's, Bobby Sura's and Derek Anderson's of the world, not to mention for the most part of the prime of his career there were two real NBA centers in the league, hence him being one of the best centers in the league.

z not worthy of having his jersey retired??? he's the cavs' all-time leader in games played, rebounds, blocked shots and 2nd in scoring, was on the 1st team all-rookie team and named rookie game mvp (other notable rookie game mvp's - kobe bryant & allen iverson just to name a few), was a 2-time all-star picked by the all-star team coach, which i think is an even greater deal than being picked by the fans who pick the same players every year more as a popularity contest than who is actually deserving of the honor. remember last year, the fans picked an aging iverson to start??? anyway, i get the "mad-on" everyone has for lebron and the miami heat at this time. i'm just as pissed about it as everyone else is, but to project all that disgust onto z now just isn't fair. with the exception of art modell and now lebron, time heals all wounds, so give it about 5 years or so after he eventually retires and then bring him back in for a ceremony then. besides, his wife is from cleveland and so she will probably still have some family here then and the cavs can turn it into a real nice family affair.

Dear Cleveland, all of Northeast Ohio, Cleveland Cavaliers supporters wherever you may be tonight, and residents of Kaunas, Lithuania;

As you know, our former brittle, aging center is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

It was announced with a cowardly "press release" that our once-beloved "Z" has reached a "Decision" to play alongside the motherfucking piece of shit who betrayed us all last week.

Clearly, this is disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that we had no further use for him. He hasn't played much basketball for the last couple of seasons, he's slow as molasses, and once he taught Anderson Varejao how to eat with utensils and use a condom, he wasn't of much use.

Still, you simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.
