Yes something had to have happened and I hope we don't have to wait till Windy's book to find out. Great thread.

I knew I would garner your attention Herm. Not looking to make this irrational and bitter Cleveland fan thread but looking at the games, the time line and the end decision it is not a crazy 911 theory, it just isn't. If I asked every single decent regular here (what 20-25 posters) if they thought a sporting event was fixed or a player intentionally tanked in the entire history of this country's history 99.9% would answer yes, so why couldn't this be an instance right?

I'm still in stage 2, even if drunk it still counts as stage 2.

Seems many around here saw the boston series. The debate was...was it just a bad game, or purposeful.

Some of the worst playoff performances of his career? Sure smells funny. I think it was Orenthal who was pissed about all the ex-players seemingly taking Bron's side, but some of the writers are calling a spade a spade about that Celtic series.

There is a Celtic fan on another site I visit, that swears Lebron threw game 5. I agree with him.

I think he threw Game 6 as well. Don't pay too much attention to the triple-double: LeBron can put up numbers in his sleep. Look at the shooting numbers and, especially, at the turnovers.

Agreed. Most misleading statline ever. Game 6 was just as bad as 5.

You think about it ... Bron had 3 or 4 of the worst 10 games OF HIS CAREER in one six game series. That cannot be a coincidence and I said it at the time. I think it was one part losing all respect for Roker, 1 part being pissed at teammates for poor effort or tagging his ma, and 2 parts that he had one foot out the door and just didn't care ... and prolly knew that winning a title here would make his pending move to Miami even tougher.

Simply amazing.

Very.

Never heard a word about a physical with Miami's doctors, either.

LeBron changed at that time. The tings he said, they way he talked. The way he played. At that point me and the wife and boys looked at each other and knew he was LeGone.

So did Dan Gilbert.

This is the biggest thing that ticks me off...
The whole national media is saying, "LBJ couldn't win a ring with Cleveland, so that's why he left (Blaming it on CTown)," or, "Gilbert didn't give him the pieces to win a ring, so he left (blaming it on TMLP)."

There is one reason that the Cavs did not win a ring this year. And that is LeBron.

LeBron has heard all the talking heads say for years that the Cavs haven't surrounded him with enough talent. He knew they would say it again if they lost this year.

LeBron quit so he could still have his built in excuse to leave. He created the reason to leave by losing. I will never forgive him for that.

Edit: And wouldn't it break your heart if LBJ's elbow was seriously hurt and he never plays the same again?!?!

Seems so simple to even say, but what if the left handed free throw was a sign to Bosh and Wade that he was in. Perhaps up til that point he was non-committal but told them he would give a sign. Conspiracy going wild.

Critics accused him of quitting on his team. Now they wonder if he flat-out threw the series, knowing he’d never have an excuse to leave town if he was defending an NBA crown.

This. No way could 'bron float the B.S. "best chance to win" excuse if he was coming off a NBA championship or even near-miss. No conspiracy theorist, but this shit reeks.

I don't see how they could ever prove anything like that, regardless of how many PIs Gilbert hires. It's not like LeBron took money and there might be a trail of it somewhere.

No, LeBron didn't take money. But if someone knew about it and made money off of it, LeBron's just as guilty. What if he talked about it to his inner circle? What if one of them let something slip? Not very likely, but stranger things have happened. There's a reason people get caught for insider trading: People are stupid and arrogant.

LBJ was gone in spirit at the end of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. After that point, hooking up together was the primary target of Wade, Bosh and Bron, everything else be damned. It was just a matter of whether they could make it happen.

When the Heat launched their grand plan to clear three near-max cap spots, the wheels went into motion, and there was no turning back.

I think the last time Bron seriously considered staying in Cleveland was prior to the '09 ECF. After that debacle happened, he started getting visions of having to wait his whole career for a title, and he freaked out. He wanted to hook up with Wade and Bosh before then. After that, it became essential in his own mind, if he wanted multiple rings.
