I have a promotional idea that I think Gilbert would love.

For next season have clothing drives at the gates. Ask fans to bring an article of clothing to be donated to the poor in NEO. For ever person that brings in a LeBron shirt, jersey, etc they get a free pop or hot dog.

A) it is for a worthy legit cause in clothing the needy
B) it is for a worthy legit cause in getting LeBron stuff out of circulation in NEO.

As funny as the $17.41 IS, comparing Lejerk to Benny is a major afront to Benny's legacy. Without him we may not be the USA, and might still be worshipping a king...or a queen. He was instrumental in the Battle of Saratoga that turned the tide of the war, not to mention some other heroic deeds.

In the end, good old Benny was a victim of his own ego, some poor treatment by the higher ups in the Continental Army and of course he got involved with a woman who influenced him in a negative way...come to think of it, maybe they ARE an excellent comparison. :fu:

No idea what that means. The understanding part, not the Thome part. Thome I dont think is a fair comparison either cuz he never really reached Top 5 favorite Indians (at least for me, he was behind Kenny, Belle, Manny, Omar, Sandy, Baerga, El Presidente, probably others).

My level of hatred for LeBron can not be measured right now. No vulgarity even exists that can describe it. But just as with the girl you loved who dumped you inspiring degrees of hatred you never thought imaginable a week earlier, yet years down the road you pine for her, that's what will ultimately happen with LeBron. Not in 5 years. But it will happen eventually.

It will never happen. And the fact that LeBron was the "hometown kid" will lengthen the backlash indefinitely.

Not saying I agree with it, but he'll get some kind of recognition down the road. Time will pass, people will start to feel nostaglic about that era of Cavs basketball, and it will happen.

Hell, what Thome did may have been worse and there were people who wanted him back this year when he hit FA. Sure, Thome wasn't a hometown kid, but he spent from 1989-2002 in the Indians organization. The team had a chance to trade him, he balked and gave every indication that he'd return, and had exchanged parameters of an extension. Then the Phillies swoop in, make a stupid offer for an extra year, his wife is his rock and he's gone. No legit compensation for the Indians, only 2 compensatory picks (turned into Brad Snyder and Adam Miller).

Maybe it was just me. I felt just as angry when Thome left as I did on Thursday night. I'm not going to force anyone to go over that debate again because I'm sure all of you have had it, but my personal reaction to it was similar. FTR, if the front office didn't want him back then they should have just traded him.

Reason it rang true for me was that he, like James now, claimed the move was about "winning", which was not really true. It was about the extra guaranteed money, just like James' move was done so that Wade can carry him to some titles. Entirely their right to move on, just don't blow smoke up our asses about it.
