OJ, all of these rumors have been written several times and in several articles at this point.

Most all of these outlets use twitter to break the story first and then put the story up 20 minutes later.

Twitter has no impact on what is being broken, just the ease of finding it (I mean, the horrid Bosh S & T rumor came from Lebatard on the radio, etc...).

As was stated, this report came from Shaw's agent and was seemingly confirmed by Scott's.

Same as Izzo reportedly never had an offer from us (per Windy) but publicly declined an offer.

Frankly I just think our org is a shit show at the moment.

FWIW: Amick was the Kings beat guy up until AOL threw a ton of money at him this year and has been considered for ages one of the two great Beat reporters in the league, along w/ Windy. Guys are very very similar and frankly if LBJ bolts I wouldn't be shocked to see Windy end up moving on the same way Amick did.

To be fair, Pritchard wasn't on the market when Ferry left and they slid Grant in. It would show even more organizational instability if they said "Grant is not just an interim" and then grabbed Pritchard.

No, Grant was slid in because he was a yes man. No one was interviewed or considered because Gilbert wanted someone that would let him run the show.

Grant could have been interimed and a search started (although after this coaching debacle that would have been awesome) and/or once Pritchard hit the market we could have evolved and made him president or some shit.

The Grant hire is a transparent as transparent gets, it keeps the org in place and puts Gilbert strictly at the head of the table calling the shots.

The million dollar question is why where we stringing both along? I mean were we that inept at making the final call? Scott never even had a formal interview, he just happened to be in MI and met w/ Gilbert informally after a phone interview and Shaw allegedly crushed his interview out of the park.

What was the point in not making up our minds?

Trying to drag our feet and let LBJ pick? That doesn't really jive w/ the promises we would have a hire in place by EOD Thursday.

I was unaware of this. File me firmly in the "decreasing faith in TMLP" category, then. Even if Pritchard's firing was no guarantee, better to wait to see what happens with a proven commodity than pull the trigger on a rookie. I feel very insecure about an inexperienced GM trying to get together a big deal to land LeBron the guy to convince him to stay.
