Biggest, most shocking rise to extraordinary fame. Still can't believe this the same person who played hype-girl on Naughty By Nature albums.

Of course any group that busts out "gansta gansta" has to be tops. How can something so raw be so smoof?
But I have soft spot for Geto Boys and King Tee , and Ice T started the shit into mainstream with 6 in the morn before he tried to mix message and get paid.
Can we also have a raunchy sex rapper thread that starts with Campbell and leads up to Three 6 mafia ? I just heard Bitch Better Have my money by AMG not long ago. Classic.

BDP was always that cerebral shit to me like PE & Nas. KRS One has to be top 5 all time.
I miss the production hip hop like brand Nubian and shit. Wish hip hop could break the formula of pop hip hop and screaching gospel females.
Enough jay z.

"Turn This Mutha Out" MC Hammer, yes.
Everything else, no.
Giving CDT points for participation, I don't think he's got a D-Nice album sitting next his Acid Bath disc.

Tough to define, so I'll assume '90's West Coast rappers dealing with explicit lyrics and very mature subject matter. Too Short was so raw, really liked him. Does Cypress Hill count? Wore out their first album.
