Ground Zero mosque

Unread postby FUDU » Thu Jun 10, 2010 11:16 am

Safe to say this is a pretty controversial idea.

We're still inside of 10 years for the 911 events (not sure if time is even a significant factor here), at Ground Zero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpP7b2lUxVE), this is just a really bad idea. Even with an objective and honest acknowledgment that members of the Muslim faith do wish for peace, and that only their extremist members choose otherwise this is one of those things I feel you just have to say no to. Not know and without a definitely time line of when. Maybe do it somewhere else far enough away from NYC.

You can blame the Russians for that.

Honest ? CDT, you actually think 2 blocks away separates the events of 911 and the notion of a Muslim mosque in the minds/hearts of New Yorkers, particularly the family of the victims?

No I think 2 blocks away isn't Ground Zero. I think people just need something to bitch about.

What is the proper time line? 10 years? 50 years? Never?

Besides it's unAmerican to hold a whole faith responsible for the actions of a few.....

What does it matter who sells it?

I can go down to Barnes and Noble and buy Mein Kampf. I can buy the Turner Diaries and Hunter from the same place.

Ground Zero is more than just where the buildings fell bud, hate to tell you that, the geographical convenience of a couple blocks is irrelevant here. However when is enough time is a fair ? IMO, can be argued both ways I suppose. But to shrug this notion off like pfft, get over it, is pretty ridiculous IMO. The Muslim faith however isn't being booted out of the US if this Mosque were put on hold or ultimately refused.

Heh...

I denunciate all religions. But not the right to practice them. I don't blame Chrisitanity for the actions of McVeigh or Eric Rudolph, nor would I care if a church was built 2 blocks from the OKC site.

Is Gary Condit in some sort of trouble, if so he might welcome such a suicide mission.

Will they sell bean pies? Need something to nosh on after visiting the memorial.

If they aren't a Black Muslim mosque and they are serious, I say a few of us get together and lease a storefront on the main walking drag in the 2 blocks between ground zero and this mosque. Let's stock up on sidewalk chalk and eggs. Maybe mix in some spray paint, D cell batteries and river rock in bulk or in single, but knowing NY laws we may be held liable for that.

LOL, how to make Joy Beher and Whoopi Goldberg look even more like complete idiots. State the truth. O'Reilly has the gull to state that Muslims attacked us on 9/11. I am equally offended I heard someone once say that that men attacked us on 9/11. OUTRAGE!

Hilarious. At least Walters has the balls to call them out on their childish behavior.

The best thing to do when you want you and your show to be taken seriously is to walk out on a challenging interview. I have only watched youtube clips of this show and I can't make it through a 5 minute clip. I put up with enough bitchy women at work. I saw on MSN that Hasselbeck is going to GMA and Walters should just retire, why work with that??

Childish behavior, yes, but "Muslims attacked us on 9/11" is just as true as "Catholic priests sexually abused/raped 100's and maybe 1000's of children"

The clamoring for no mosque to be built 2 blocks away (and not visible) from ground zero is about as valid as asking all catholic churches within 1 mile of grade/elementary schools to move to other locations.

This is America, and no one ever said freedom of speech and religion was going to be a pleasing/wonderful thing for every person, every day.

Sometimes its a bitch.

And FTR, The View + O'Reily = seriously, fucking kill me rather than make me watch.

Sure of course it is, but when you make that statement I am wise enough to understand that you aren't talking about all Catholic priest because that surely isn't the truth. Anyone with a brain knows not all Catholic priest raped children just as everyone knows not all Muslims attacked us on 9/11. I just thought it was funny to see two huge liberals and shills for democrats walk out on set and look foolish in the process trying to make a stink about a statement.

Just a guess, but I am sure they have taken liberties on the show to talk in generalities about Republicans or Tea Parties with out specifying that they mean a few or some.

I am not so sure that it is understood that way.

You overestimate the lazy-brained Americans across the country that get most/all of their news 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand from one or two places.

The amount of people that believe the popular political emails that go around despite the easiest tools imaginable being readily available online to check the validity of such claims is STAGGERING.

If they did large scale quizzes on the general public, and I'm talking about the loud mouthed ones that believe they are knowledgeable, I think people would be simply shocked at what people out there believe.

Poll 50 people and half or more don't even know how many states there are in the union.

And you want to believe that understanding all Muslims did not/are not responsible for blowing up the world trade is a given?

How very optimistic of you.
