Safe to say this is a pretty controversial idea.

We're still inside of 10 years for the 911 events (not sure if time is even a significant factor here), at Ground Zero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpP7b2lUxVE), this is just a really bad idea. Even with an objective and honest acknowledgment that members of the Muslim faith do wish for peace, and that only their extremist members choose otherwise this is one of those things I feel you just have to say no to. Not know and without a definitely time line of when. Maybe do it somewhere else far enough away from NYC.

Ground Zero is more than just where the buildings fell bud, hate to tell you that, the geographical convenience of a couple blocks is irrelevant here. However when is enough time is a fair ? IMO, can be argued both ways I suppose. But to shrug this notion off like pfft, get over it, is pretty ridiculous IMO. The Muslim faith however isn't being booted out of the US if this Mosque were put on hold or ultimately refused.

I denunciate all religions. But not the right to practice them. I don't blame Chrisitanity for the actions of McVeigh or Eric Rudolph, nor would I care if a church was built 2 blocks from the OKC site.

If they aren't a Black Muslim mosque and they are serious, I say a few of us get together and lease a storefront on the main walking drag in the 2 blocks between ground zero and this mosque. Let's stock up on sidewalk chalk and eggs. Maybe mix in some spray paint, D cell batteries and river rock in bulk or in single, but knowing NY laws we may be held liable for that.

The best thing to do when you want you and your show to be taken seriously is to walk out on a challenging interview. I have only watched youtube clips of this show and I can't make it through a 5 minute clip. I put up with enough bitchy women at work. The clamoring for no mosque to be built 2 blocks away (and not visible) from ground zero is about as valid as asking all catholic churches within 1 mile of grade/elementary schools to move to other locations.

This is America, and no one ever said freedom of speech and religion was going to be a pleasing/wonderful thing for every person, every day.

You overestimate the lazy-brained Americans across the country that get most/all of their news 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand from one or two places.

The amount of people that believe the popular political emails that go around despite the easiest tools imaginable being readily available online to check the validity of such claims is STAGGERING.

If they did large scale quizzes on the general public, and I'm talking about the loud mouthed ones that believe they are knowledgeable, I think people would be simply shocked at what people out there believe.

Poll 50 people and half or more don't even know how many states there are in the union.
