Classic. A few guys get in everyday and make a mockery of the whole thing. After the third or fourth guy got through, Reghi questioned the chick intern for putting them through before going on a rant asking them to come to the studio, be men and get in his face.
Absolutely pathetic.

Thank you so much for sharing this link SSS. I definately participated.
C-town radio needs Hammer. He's the Iron Sheik, the guy we need to hate. He's Peter Brown a decade later.
Should ONLY be a sidekick tho. Horrific solo. In love with his own voice.

Get converted, see the light, get podcasts or a satellite radio. You'll still be able to drop in on the locals, but will get the option of actual decent talk whenever you want it.

Correct, Hammer is needed. I wish he wouldn't take so many positions opposite of Cleveland fan for what seems like effect, but there are times he has a valid take. Rizzo is such a homer he needs a guy like Hammer. They work well together. Sabrina can hit the road anytime now though.

Cease, thing is all I want is local. I don't give a rat's ass about Coward pontificating anymore than I do Reg. Not a fan of any national ESPN radio "talent", and the shows I do enjoy (Rome, 2 Live Stus) just have national shows. Not what I want as a Cleveland fan. same reason I "live" here virtually and not on some generic NFL national board, for example.
BTW - Your significant other should start posting underthe name "Ann Desist".

I hear you, I agree, I wish there was really good local sports talk. I don't rush to shut off Rizzo and Hammer. I can stomach them all in doses- even Brinda and Roda. I'm just not sure why there isn't a single radio personality in town that can calmly take calls and lead a discussion over the air. Have topics, bring on guests, open up the lines, listen to callers, be intelligent, keep the show moving. Maybe that doesn't sell.

Unable to service its growing debt, Malrite exited the radio business by selling off all their stations to Shamrock Broadcasting (Roy Disney's family-owned broadcasting company) in 1993. [14] Shamrock in turn spun off WHK and WMMS to OmniAmerica, headed by former Malrite executive Carl Hirsch, on April 1994. Shortly thereafter, on May 16, 1994,[15] WHK adopted a sports talk format featuring Tom Bush, Les Levine, Tony Rizzo and Pat McCabe, and dubbed itself "The Sports Voice of the Fan." WHK's programming was highly regarded by many listeners, and it slowly developed a devoted following.

Bruce was/is an excellent baseball guy, good on football and decent on hoops. Used to let caller's have their time, found some solid interviews.Cerebral_DownTime wrote:FUDU wrote:His name was Bruce Drennan, problem was he started eating too many TV dinners.Cease wrote:I can stomach them all in doses- even Brinda and Roda. Brinda, the BSK, Ronnie "Slam" Duncan, Roda, The Mickey Mouse Club that is Rizzo's show (Can you please go on Rome's show and embarrass you and the station nationally Riz), I mean, good holy Christ.
An absolutely unlistenable station.
Unlistenable.

My $ 0.02.
Play by play? Good. Never had an issue other than his cliche's wore thin. No Hammy but a pro's pro.
Sports talk? Arrogant prick who has bad takes, supremely aweful.

While he isn't a Bill Needle in terms of sports knowledge he can talk sports without the arrogance of Reghi, or the lame whisper-yell rhythm of Munch. He is also a naturally funny guy that can swerve into other topics. Unlike Triv I don't think he takes himself too seriously, and IMO would not get on the irrational crusades that make Triv unlistenable at times.
