Gym tips / regimens

Unread postby CAVSTRIBEBROWNSin07! » Tue May 25, 2010 12:02 pm

Thinking about joining a gym after not getting any physical activity (other than sex)for about a year. Played some ball last week for the first time in a while and was sore for 3 days after, so I decided its about time I got myself back in shape.

Any gym rats here have any recommendations of a good regimen to start out with? My objectives have nothing to do with weight loss - I have no issues with that - just strictly to get myself in decent enough shape that I can get up and down the court for a full game, and put on some muscle tone at the same time.

How many days were you sore after sex? :pb: I would say definitely take it slow for the first week or two. Don't laugh but if you want to be in game shape, try some step classes or whatever at the gym. Some guys here at work have done them and said it kicked their ass. The circuit machines are more convenient but you can't beat free weights. I know at my age, 42, I almost feel like it doesn't matter what I do as long as I do something.

You have a garage.

They're awesome and much cooler than gyms with yoga balls and vitamin waters.

My garage will not be slandered by the likes of this crowd. There are over 60 beers in my garage fridge. There are saws, wrenches, and various other things that are very non-gay. I have a punching bag that i practice my deadly spinning back kick and South American Ninja death punch of doom on.

However that woman gyrating on that yoga ball is almost hypnotic.

What I learned from this thread:

Posting about having sex, with women, in a way only loosely related with your post/topic makes you not cool, but cooler then the person pointing it out.

Going to the gym is gay, and at the same time garages are gay, to varying degrees. Especially gay if you are a tool that likes to smack his bag around.

Also of note are the two pictures posted. One is very desirable to have in your search history, the other, nearly turns you gay upon viewing, and most certainly makes your computer gay.

A jam packed... Lesson.

3 Things I learned from this thread.

1) Tripods thinks I look good.

2) Ziner's search history is probably very interesting.

3) Any thread can be hijacked.

Listen, i'm not a "real" scientist, but I did have a chemistry set when I was a kid. So as a defacto scientist I think it's pretty obvious that science has concluded that gyms are gay. You can't argue it, it's science.

Exactly 1 year later, and I still haven't done anything yet. But now I'm fo real!

So I've had 2 things recommended to me as good at-home starting points: Perfect Pushup and/or Pullup, and Power 90. Any thoughts on these? Anyone see results, negatives?
