Akron police say a wrong-way driver ended up behind bars Tuesday.

Police say Dalton B. Evans, 18, of South Main Street in Magnolia, initially was pulled over for a traffic violation on West Cedar Street.

When officers discovered an open container of beer inside the car, Evans attempted to run away and ''punched'' an officer in the process, according to a police report.

Police say they found Evans hiding in bushes by a building at 200 W. Exchange St., where he struck two more officers before he could be restrained.

Evans faces charges of open container in a motor vehicle, underage possession, misrepresentation, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

Stupid Detroit cops got a warrant to raid both units of a duplex, and found the guy they were looking for in one unit. They also managed to murder a 7-year old in the other unit.

Anyone want to lay odds on the trigger-happy officer actually serving time for this killing?

As someone who went to Akron, I got tired of hearing the god damn police sirens flying down Exchange all day, every day. The place is a shitbox. Plain and simple.

The bank across the street from my apartment got robbed a couple times and police were searching for tossed weapons in the courtyard behind the building.

Couldn't go out at all for fear of winding up in a bodybag.

I work right off of downtown Akron. I grew up in the suburbs of Akron and even lived in Akron for a while. I've spent my whole life around this area and I have to tell you, Akron makes me itch.

I hate downtown Akron so very much. I use to have to take the Metro to work and would switch busses downtown at the main terminal and what a bunch of evil diseased scum hang out there. Everyone is either a druggy, a drunk, a nutcase, a robber, a homeless person, or all of the above. Every single off ramp in Akron is now littered with hobo's begging for change. It makes me sick.

It's not AK rowdy anymore it's, AK run for your life. I'd rather walk around Highland square naked wearing a sign that says "free entry" then spend a night hanging out in downtown Akron.

If you stay in the area where all the new bars and restaurants are, you'll be fine. Like, down by canal park. Just don't venture far from there lol.
