His casino needs a team to be pulling people to downtown. His team needs a casino to draw more people to downtown.

I agree, and pointed that out when Lead and others were going nuclear, but this is a Gilbert philosophy. His companies all run in this fashion, and he uses all the best practices to keep key employees and keep them happy. This isn't just some random mid market baseball team owner or Donald Sterling turn a profit every year...
The guy has done it, is doing it, and has all along said that he will continue doing it that way.
