Is it possible to get and sign Ricky Rubio nder the cap uto improve the PG postion, Bron or no Bron? Do the Bucks still have his rights or is he back in the draft?

Is LeBron staying?

If yes then you just need a simple surgery. Remove LeBron's "balls" and graft on a pair from the biggest baddest Lion in Africa.

If he's leaving, I guess you sell the team to Iceland or some shit.

love the lion balls approach.

couple things that i'd like to see happen next year

1a)Fire mike brown and get someone who is flexible enough to run multiple offenses and defenses should the situation call for it..don't forget....mike brown was never a head coach until he got to us....and i don't care what his winning % are. he needs to go

1b) cut gibson and slide moe into his role (guard off bench or shooting specialist)...during regular season only.

2) get a fucking point guard. I like sebby telfair, but not to start. Fuck it...let delonte start.

3) pick up another banger that can get offensive rebounds.
but in no place is the pain like Cleveland's: all-encompassing, multi-generational, redundant and unique at once.

Next year is going to be all about one thing: collecting as much throwback Sonics gear as you can before the prices Sky-Rocket when Gilbert announces the inevitable move.

Back to my Pre-LBJ era suggestion -

find a city who doesn't want their hockey team and swap even up. I think C-town could carry a hockey team. At least it would be new.

You could support a hockey team if they arrived and were really good from the get go. Otherwise the seats would be empty.

I cant see a hockey team working. If Cleveland was going to get hockey they needed to beat Columbus to the punch. With the the Bluejackets, Pens, and Red Wings I dont think there is a big local TV market for them. Even if they were good.

Herm, are you high? If LBJ goes it will take a minimum of 10 years to get back to where we are. If the Cavs even still exist

I'm sure the NHL would have rather had Cleveland than Columbus but there was a conflict of interest with Gund owning the Sharks when the talks first started going down correct?

TBO and Gilbert gets us back in the playoffs in three years, if that.

Getting the playoffs and having a team that is expected to compete for a title and has a realistic chance to win one are two different things. Besides that if LBJ leaves he is most likely going to a Eastern conference team so that would be one more team we would have to overcome.

Bottom out for a few years and don't blow the picks (ala Paxson) and the team will be back contending soon. There is more talent than ever coming into the association, don't even need the 1st or 2nd pick to get a stud.

Bring back Chris Gatling? Maybe a healthy Darius Miles is still trying to play basketball? Luke Jackson is playing in Europe I think...

If just Bron was removed from the current roster, and the guys were forced to learn how to play understanding he was never coming back, I don't think we have a bad team. Miami was a 5 seed, I think we would be better then Wade and the stiffs surrounding him, then again what do I know...

It's impossible for me to really debate to the contrary with any gusto. I look at a roster with Shaq's corpse at the 5, Getting Older 'Twan, Some guy at 3, Parker/Moon/West, and Mo as... Huh, yeah check that, best we could go is probably 6th seed.

Of course if Bron leaves we only have 45ish million committed to 'Twan, Mo, Andy, Delonte, Boobie, Moon, Parker, and Hickson. Add 2.5 million to that when Telfair exercises his player option. 47.5 million and you are left somewhere near 10 million under the cap. What that buys you I am not sure? Of course you have to renounce Shaq to make that happen, but so many here think he is useless anyway as foolish as I think that take may be...

They would obviously renounce Shaq and look to deal everyone on the roster except for Hickson. And they would include Hickson if it made Mo or Jamo go away.

Except for the fact that the financial situation is moot because a good free agent is only going to come to Cleveland to play with......Lebron.

NBA basketball in this city being tied to someone everyone loved a few weeks ago wasn't that awful. Now that it's dependant on public enemy number 1, (apparently) it's not so great.

But it is a fact. He goes, the best case scenario is the Cavs are inconsequential for years. Years. If they are here that long, which is doubtful.

If Lebron leaves, the Cavs make no moves this offseason other than cleaning house as much as possible. Gilbert isn't going to want to throw good money after bad before the lockout.

Yeah, those "years before Lebron".....well, they did have a couple year run based on one draft day - arguably the only draft day in thier history thay didn't F up. And besides that well.....they have a history of being a laughingstock. From Stepien to Paxson and all the crap in between...a 35 year run of wire to wire suck. They were nearly gone before the ping-pong ball bounced their way (preventing the Cavs from having the number 2 pick, in which Paxson, true to form, would've chosen Darko) and they'll be gone in a few years if the King goes.

And what big name free agents came here before the Lebron era?

Next year, with no LeBron, that is hilarious.

If no LeBron I am done, no joking. It makes sense in that it would be the next logical step in me turning into one of my uncles. Call me crazy but i'm thinking the Cavs rally and pull this series out. I know it's fanish, but I got the feeling.

It might all be for naught, cuz I doubt they put up a fight vs Orlando

What is crazier is I think if we can find a way out of this series it could be a chance at a fresh start for a new series. Keeping Cockroft on the sidelines against the Raiders made more sense than this series.

not when he had missed twice previously, and it was so cold it was like kicking a rock, though they should have just ran the ball.

even though I wasn't alive for the event, that's what I recall reading up on about the game.

Call me crazy but i'm thinking the Cavs rally and pull this series out. I know it's fanish, but I got the feeling.

It might all be for naught, cuz I doubt they put up a fight vs Orlando

I don't know, man. Orlando seems to be peaking at the right time.

Can we really measure how truly good orlando is at this point?

again, eeyore seems to be screaming out this point that the hawks-magic series was a joke (again, the Cavs swept them last season), and they played a really green horned bobcats team which have only truly given the Cavs trouble this past season.

This of course is all pending on how a hypothetical game 6 and 7 goes for the wine and gold, if LBJ comes out balls out, plays his heart out and it's like 07 all over again (all of this in my mind, judging by how he is acting as of late is about is likely as eeyore applauding a post of mine), than it's a whole new ballgame, suddenly spirits are up everywhere and mojo is back.

I measure Orlando as team that's handled it's business.

Yes.

If Bron stays there is a future for his duration plus about 5.

If he leaves I give the Cavs 3 years, max.

Priced out of the market without a Bron type player. When its all said and done Gilbert will have made Dolan look like Warren Buffett.

TBO and Gilbert gets us back in the playoffs in three years, if that.

Getting the playoffs and having a team that is expected to compete for a title and has a realistic chance to win one are two different things.

Clearly.

Doug, the past few years compared to the guilded age of Hill, Mills and Phills? Or the one year wonder that was Kemp and the kids?

Chile pleaze.

Aweful retord Doug. Aweful.

My gut says they win tonight and blow game 7 in a more or less excruciating manner.

Then the drama show is on.

But that's me.

SD:

Can't speak for game seven , but I'll bet ya you won't find a dozen shots after the game of Lebron standing around playing with his pud while everybody else was battling as the networks all too gleefully highlighted all week.

Dude got to take the shot if we have any chance and be the old Lebron or this game is over by halftime .

Next year if Lebron stays .

You dump that useless clueless slug of a coach .

You dump Shack and Z and Mo and Jamieson salary install Telfair and Greene along with Moon and Parker as guards, outbid everybody else for the Predator in Toronto and run an up tempo offense and defense to five straight Championships .

Not only is your scenario not possible, it's idiotic.

Install Telfair at guard? Are you fucking shitting me?

How the fuck are they gonna clear max player space? How the fuck does a team outbid the home team for a max contract player?

Are you still up from a bender last night?

This is a fantasy lala land post even by your standards.

Kinda funny that the dregs of Pure Football have come in here as the three muskateers and taken this place down ten notches.

Kudos Tree, Pros and SD.

Christ, I can't even get over how fucking stupid that idea/plan/scenario is....

What fuckin planet do you live on SD?

Can you be THAT out of touch with this sport? And be spending time posting on it?

That's rare.
